Thank you for the video. My son lived in Hendersonville for a while and I visited him several years ago maybe 6 yrs and he lived down that main road off from the cemetary and I visited the Johnny Cash memorial because my dad was a huge fan. He would play their music on an 8 track in the way early 70s. My dad passed in 1987 and thought it was poignant to visit Cash's memorial on behalf of my dad. I found this cemetary so peaceful. I can't explain it. I've visited my relatives in other cemetarys but this one has a different feel to it. I sat on the bench and thought about my father and how much he admired Johnny Cash.

Thank you so much for the video. And especially for focusing in on the historical markers. Easy to pause and read them. I learned a lot that I never knew. I'm a 48-year-old trucker, and I remember the day in 2003 when I heard on the radio that Johnny Cash had died. My heart broke that day. God bless y'all, and thanks so much again for doing this. Very insightful. If I ever retire, I'd love to visit Hendersonville.

That was nice, I enjoyed it. I remember my aunt being on a tour back in the 60's and the bus stopped at Johnny Cash's home and sure enough, he and June both came out and said hello to everyone. She had the pictures to prove it ! How many artists in any genres of music do that ? Few and far between for sure and that's just one example of the love and kindness that was in their hearts.

My name is David Keith. I am 55yrs. Old. My daddy was from Nashville Tennessee. When I a little boy, I use to love listening to johnny Cash and use love to imitate Johnny cash by turning around to everyone and say "hello, my name is Johnny cash" I wasn't shy. As a big fan of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, I loved your video. I'm was born and raised in South Carolina.Yep, still here. I have a FB friend named Madde that lives in Sweden and she loved them too. We used to write each other alot and we'd talk about visiting the Cash house. We knew we'd never get there because Madde couldn't come to the states but we'd dream about it. We were both brokenhearted when it burned down but ya know, maybe it was somehow God's plan. I was raised on Johnny Cash music. My daddy met him many times and loved him too. My daddy had to be one of his biggest fans.My daddy was a self taught guitar player and played local places with his band and had his own radio show awhile. He could sing just like Johnny .Only I spoke at my daddy's funeral in 2006 then I told them all I wanted to listen to Johnny Cash one more time with my daddy.. I played" Were You There When They .Crucified My Lord" Thank you both so much for making my night. God Bless you

Thank you so much for this video. The area has grown up from the 70s. A high school class mate had a brother work for Johnny and this a very rural area and few houses near. I have been gone from the area for many years. My mother was the OB floor charge nurse when their son was born at Madison Hospital. I worked at the hospital for a short time when I returned from Vietnam and Johnny would come to hospital and say hello and ask of my father for he had a heart attack. A great person not just because of his music but his nature.

This is fantastic. My mom actually grew in Madison TN and went to school with June's daughter Rosie (not to be confused with Rosanne Cash, who most know is Johnny's daughter). Rosie was about 9 when Johnny & June wed. After they moved to Hendersonville, she and my mom remained friends for a few years. Mom has mentioned to me she went to a birthday party at this house. June was of course there but Johnny was on the road at that time. She even stayed over once for a sleepover one time and they had a housekeeper who watched them while Johnny & June were both away. Taking advantage of that opportunity they even snuck into Johnny & June's bedroom and tried on June's dresses. Next time I am in Nashville, I think I'll suggest to my mom that we go on a drive and revisit this site. I also want to note just how amazing it is that Marty Stuart restored that Orchard and kept the wishes of Roy Orbison. What a guy. Mom also mentioned that she recalls looking outside of Johnny & June's place and seeing the side of Roy Orbison's home. I am not sure if it was the original home or the rebuilt one - this would have probably been around 1968 if I had to guess.

When you live on the other side of the world in Christchurch New Zealand, the Southern Hemisphere is a long way`s away. I used to live in Burnsville North Carolina, i visited Tennessee a few times but not this neck of the woods, so it was great getting to see all you showed. Thankyou

Every summer my dad would drive me and my sister Pam to go and stay with my grandma at 400 Hadley Ave in Old Hickory. We had so many memories of Old Hickory Lake with all of our cousins.

Hello, I visited the burned down Cash home in 2007 as well as the Cemetery, where June and Johnny find their last place of freedom. Everything on the former Cash property got cleaned up nicely and the graveyard expanded a lot. I am originally from Germany, came over to the US in 2002. Of course, I was always a huge fan of Johnny and June, unfortunately, they left us too early. Thank you for this video, I really enjoyed it.
