The Story
I wrote Gaudi Funk when I lived across the road from Guell(Gaudi) Park in Barcelona. Gaudi was one of the greatest architects of our time and a true innovator.
I feel my brand of funk is also innovative. I grew up on deep 70s funk and wished to fuse these elements with phat modern tech. Where EPs like this differ from funky house though, is that my style is deeper while using clean, warm sounds as opposed to old dirty samples that are often found in the funky house genres.
At the end of the day, I wish for my music to sound sweet on a club system, not make my ears bleed haha.
I enjoy funky tech house as a genre and I have a release coming out on Dirtybird at the end of the month. I do feel in general, that tech house and even funky tech house has become a bit generic and homogenous.
I seek to go deeper with my tech funk with less vocal cheese and gimmick instead going for a deep, more minimal approach. I hope you enjoy the Bleep Funk Journey!
