Make sense since he had the majority of input about the character. The concept art of Jack Sparrow with how Johnny's Jack Sparrow looks so different. Sparrow in the concept art looked cleaner, thin moustach, stubble of goatie, shorter hair, large earings, full bandana that covered the top of his head instead of just wrapping his forehead. Looks a bit similar to Will Turner at the end of Dead Men Tell No Tales, if you've seen the ending. Then Johnny added more rougher style with longer goatee, scars, tattoos, & all that to Sparrow. How Sparrow acted was also had a lot of input from Johnny himself. Nobody can be Jack Sparrow except Johnny Depp himself.

Jack sparrow and Edward scissorhands are just 2 of my favorite characters that I believe is the most like him, from the dry wit, the innate sweetness and ancient soul. Every single character is like an layer of an onion being peeled away, I believe that he hides much behind each facade that he maintains, I don't know but he seems to me like he holds a lot of sadness and shyness and each character gives him the chance to put himself out there without exposing himself. Just my thoughts, I've been a fan since the NMOES days, my mama and I both loved him, that he never sold out and that in each character he leaves behind a part of himself and lays bare his own heart. Proud to be a fan and continue to be so, I believe fully in his innocence and even if he can't prove direct defamation, it will definitely be a moral win and in this case, I think it means more than money, it's a matter of principle, of restoring his reputation and proving his innocence.
