Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow at the Disney D23 Expo

Johnny Depp appeared on stage in character as Captain Jack Sparrow at the Disney D23 Expo in Anaheim, Calif. on Sept. 11, 2009 along with Walt Disney Studios chairman Dick Cook to announce the title of the next Pirates of the Caribbean film called On Stranger Tides. The film will be released in Summer 2011.

I was there about 20 ft from him even wearing a Captain Jack Sparrow t-shirt. Bonus of being a D23 member is early entrance so able to get in line early for better seats. It was the last announcement of an incredible presentation filled with stars and surprises and no one was expecting it. The place went insane as soon as the title came on the screen and curtain opened to his silouette. I'm still in shock that it happened. Wish they didn't cut out all the funny stuff he said in this video.

I wouldn't be able to speak for a while after this. lol And I would be so darn tempted to find a way to meet him face to face and discuss Tim Burton. Like I'd be all like "WHATS IT LIKE TO WORK WITH HIM WHATS HE LIKE HOW DID YOU FEEL ABOUT EDWARD SCISSORHANDS" and yeah. He's probably tired of that by now, but I am literally one of the #1 Burton fans... I've seen every one of his movies except maybe 3 of them, two of which were never released but did get made. (By the way, one of those two is now available for free on youtube, and I plan to watch it soon.)
