I remember each and every incidence of violence that was inflicted on me, over 36 years. I think that people like Amber deliberately choose people like Johnny, gentle people, because they know that they won’t fight back..that these Amber type people can treat their children/spouse lower than a dog, because they know that however much hurt and pain they inflict, they do it safe in the knowledge that no harm will come to them.

Let me be clear: I am not a victim of abuse. But I've also spoken to people who have been through abuse. And every time abuse victims are questioned about their abuse, they behave VERY differently than this woman does. They tend to soften their voices, lower their gaze or avoid direct and sustained eye contact, and tend to delay responses a little because they are ashamed to reveal such intimate details. I am not a victim but I am a VERY empathic person. When AH talks about her abuse, I feel NOTHING that spills over from her to me except anger and determination. She wants to convince everyone because her ONLY goal is not to walk out of the courtroom as a loser. Narcissists can't handle failure so they do everything in their power to win because that feeds their ego and their ego is the most important thing to them.
