When I bought my first video camera I took myself to the Agora Ballroom in Hallandale Beach Florida. I used that night to practice my skills with the camera on one of my favorite local bands, THE KIDS. The band featured Bruce Witkin, Joey Malone, Beano Hanti, and Johnny Depp.

Really wild. Johnny has a great story. It's almost "Trippy" how odd it looks on KZbin. To the right side there are connected videos to this one, of Johnny on David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, and then too Johnny playing wth Keith Richards. But imagine the Johnny in THIS video? It's absolutely ridiculous. Its so ridiculous.... every time i think of his story. The key part of it to me is always the fact that he went west, he didnt just get "born" west. A lot of the other hollywood actors , you look into them and you come to find that they were *already* west, or they were in the mid-west. Or they were just rich from the beginning and had parents who took them west when it was 'time'. Johnny, however, starts in the actual deep south with no resources (not many actually start there, believe it or not), then winds up in Florida, which is like that tourist south..... (which I think most of us go to, secretly wishing it was California) and then for some reason however, he actualy just hops all the way out to actual LA, and boom, thats it, never comes back east. The next time he makes a true move he essentially goes to Europe, and its all a wrap, hes royalty. But it still remains that he's not an actual Californian. So its kinda crazy. Tim Burton for instance is Californian. Not really all that much to his story. Same with DiCaprio. Many of them are like I said. But Johnny.... howd you do it man?

The Agora had a lot of great concerts there. It was located just off I-95 Hollywood (Or Hallandale?), Fla. I saw a great local So. Fla. band there in the early '80s called The Front (friends of mine). Also saw Spirit, Johnny Winter, 38 Special and many others I cannot recall at the moment.
