Johnny talks about his reaction to beating Adam Cole for the NXT Championship, the funny thing Candice said after he won, what it was like being in the Royal Rumble, his heel turn and says he doesn't like being asked about being called up to Raw because "NXT is the main roster."

U wanna talk crazy. Ive been a Shawn Michaels fan my whole life. I’m 35. 2 years ago I ushered at church and while standing in the back by the last row. In walks Shawn Michaels and his family. I died inside but played cool outside 😂. Shook his hand and excused myself for a moment 😂. He went to my church in Abilene Tx until he moved to Orlando.

When I was kid, (probably like 5 or 6) it was when Shawn was retired before his comeback in 2002. I lived in San Antonio, his hometown, and he had just recently become a Born-again Christian. He actually visited my church and I got to meet him as a child when I just started getting into wrestling. It was crazy, especially looking back on it now at 24 years old.

My favorite memory of Gargano (I stopped watching a year and a half ago) was an NXT event where I live. I went to take a picture with him, and he puts the NXT title on my shoulder. I was a longtime fan and former wrestler that had to retire before I won a world championship. I told him that story after. Meant the world to me.

Honestly, Johnny Gargano is one of the best things that ever happened in NXT, but let's be honest, he needs to go one day, the reason why NXT feels so special and unique it's because it's a developmental brand, new and fresh wrestlers arrive but they also go in a short period of time, the roster changes a lot and the face of the brand too, at some point, new wrestlers will need the NXT championship, they will need the main events, and with the short amount of time NXT has compared to Raw and SD, Gargano could take the time of those superstars that need it more than him, that's why he needs to go to the main roster one day, but we will never forget his amazing journey in NXT, he's the living proof of how a developmental brand should work.
