I was privileged to see Johnny the night he gave his very last performance in the Rhue Glen near Waterford. He was such a nice guy - apart altogether from his great singing voice. May he Rest in Peace.

This song was written by the great Don Williams, who also recorded it. I actually prefer Johnny's version to Don's however. It is so sad that this great performer is no longer with us...

A correction to my previous post. While Don Williams DID record this song (as did other greats like Marie Osmond, Ronna Reeves and such) he actually did not write it. A gentleman by the name of Paul Kennerley is credited with writing it. Sorry for the previous incorrect information. That does not change the fact that I still think Johnny has the best version out there. May he rest in peace.
