@thetexanfan10 жыл бұрын
YelaDuck Other than you, who with professional knowledge knows about his arm strength, and says it's weak? He was hitting 60 yarders with no problem. I guess you lose arm strength when you sign that contract huh? On pro day having the arm strength means nothing, so why even throw it? It meant something to all the other 30 nfl scouts, coaches or assistance that came there from other teams to see him. Means nothing? Is this just according to you and those you associate with....in your gym class? If it was on and you were in your living room, it would of meant more?..Why bother telling us just where you were sitting or spending your leisure time? Is this relevant to the point?
@jedlindorff10 жыл бұрын
thetexanfan It's no secret that Johnny Manziel is a really resourceful QB but if we're talking basic QB skills, his arm strength and accuracy are average at best. These kinds of things can be worked on but if you haven't noticed, most of his TDs are rushing touchdowns. Just because he can throw 60 yards doesn't mean he can throw 60 yards with continuing velocity and pin point accuracy (which he can't). i'm not trying to knock Johnny Football but it's pretty obvious that passing isn't his strong point.

I never said they would be the playoff team that they were, I just said that they wouldn't be at the bottom of the league. Also, I just said those games mainly cause they were game that Russell played well in and were fairly clutch. Especially the Patriots, Bears, and GB games. Matt Flynn is a decent QB (Prob would've started a few other places in the NFL) but I doubt he would've been able to pull out some of those plays Russell had to, and did.

Manziel fans are getting touchy about criticism. There are about 15 qbs in the NFL who are legitimate starters. Manziel being a runner raises uncertainty because running qbs rarely make it. NFL Ds will be committed to playing the pass bc they have the speed to contain him. I like Manziel but the NFL QB is about brains, dedication, and arm strength

I'm not much of a football fan, but he was probably the most electrifying quarterback that I had ever seen. He was unpredictable, quick, witty, just everything you wanted out of a quarterback except for the fact he was small. Then the off field issues happened and yeah. It's really sad that a player of this high a skill set has become such a joke and it's all his fault, I'm not going to sugarcoat it. He had the potential to become a great, but he fucked his life up and he's feeling it now.

" Another Tim Tebow ".? Fuck NO.! There was no way possible Tebow could've did this his freshman year, & wasn't nearly this good his senior year either. Make no mistake though, Johnny will DEFINITELY see another world once he gets into the NFL. But I think he will adapt & that his game play will kind of be reversed where he is going to be passing more than scrambling. He's 100x better than bitchass RG3 & unlike RG3, Johnny is a great enough player to where he's gonna be able to back up his Hype once he adapts to the new world of big fast ass veterans. Tim Tebow was a back up to Chris Leak in Florida & only brought out for the goal line plays. I knew straight up he was going to be shit when he went Pro. So I would compare Johnny as a smaller faster version of Cam Newton. That's exactly who he reminds me of. I would love to see Johnny as a rushing QB in the NFL, but that's what the defense in the leaque will be expecting. So if he plays his cards right & only rushes when needed & not just when he wants, it can happen.
@snuffysmif980110 жыл бұрын
Those comparing him to Tebow clearly don't know football. Way WAY better than Tebow, or half the NFL QBs in the league already!
@BSK76188 жыл бұрын
Noticed lots of people saying he'd be great if he wasn't in Cleveland... No he wouldn't. Manziel is a mediocre scat back at best. He had big accuracy issues, can't read the whole field, and doesn't make good decisions when in the pocket. His only answer in college was to take off running as soon as he felt pressure. When he went into the NFL, it was just a matter of time. If your a QB in the NFL who relies on running, you won't go anywhere. There are no walk-ons in the NFL, every player in the NFL was an elite/dominant player in college. So yeah, Manziel was amazing throwing perfect passes and escaping pressure in college against walk-ons and maybe a few decent defenses, but in the NFL there was no way he could succeed by relying on his running and terrible passing game.

@ClaytonElkins198510 жыл бұрын
Too many concerns to be #1 overall. He hasn't shown consistently that he can stay in the pocket and deliver a pass in tight coverage. The system he plays in is notorious for getting wide receivers out in space and in areas where the QB can just throw it to a vastly vacated area and allow the WR to make a play on it. When he is getting blitzed in the NFL, I'm not sold that he can read the blitz before the snap, identify a hot read, and deliver a pass in tight coverage all in 2 seconds. Besides all that, his running around could get him in a lot of trouble with potential injuries. He's not the biggest/bulkiest body to play QB. If he wants to run around and get hit, it could come back to bite him. I wouldn't take the chance if I am the Texans.
@ClaytonElkins198510 жыл бұрын
***** You can disagree with me but it doesn't mean I don't know what I am talking about. I never said I did know. Obviously I don't run an NFL team, but neither do you, so your opinion means as much to me as mine does to you. I could be right and I could be wrong. I will say that I think there are a lot of experts out there that share some of the same concerns I have. They've been widely discussed. Just don't act like a badass by telling me I don't know what I am talking about. I left every one of my concerns open-ended. You don't see me saying that he IS going to be a bust. I'm just saying I am skeptical.
@ClaytonElkins198510 жыл бұрын
***** And since when does "destroying" the SEC guarantee that a player will be a standout in the NFL? You think Trent Richardson is a standout? Or Greg McElroy? How about Kareem Jackson. Sure, they may turn out to be decent pros but being standouts in the SEC hardly guarantees anything at the NFL level. Besides, the SEC is overrated. Two teams annually who are legitimate preseason championship contenders and the rest are good enough for 6-4.
@OtotheZzie10 жыл бұрын
Clay Elkins Johnny Manziel can out run many NFL athletes such as veterans who are old and can barely run. for example: Tom Brady can out run defenses at scrambles at points, why make statements on a player who know one can compare to, give me the same stats,same team,same DNA and i will believe everything but you cant judge someones else's mind to another.
@sbuball2010 жыл бұрын
i think he deserves to be taken in the first, but not first overall, I'm a texans fan myself, and i would like to be able to get him, but not at number 1, i think there are other players out there that would be less of a risk, just my opinion, not an expert
@wiixxxproducers10 жыл бұрын
This is Manziel's 2012 highlights, I really hope you're not judging his entire potential NFL skill set from this video. He can't stay in the pocket and thread the needle? Clearly you haven't watched both Alabama games. Running will get him 'killed in the NFL'? Yeah I haven't heard that 999 times before, Manziel will adjust accordingly and will slide/get out of bounds more often. Even if so he is quite possibly one of the most elusive and improvisational quarterbacks I have ever seen

There are linebackers that are faster than him on the field and you mean to tell me he'll be able to scramble around like he did in college!? No way bro....college and NFL are two completely different things.
@MADGNZT10 жыл бұрын
That was said about Tim Tebow and although he didn't run like he used to in College, he was actually able to run for some good yardage in many occasions and he posted a 4.7 40 yard dash, way slower than Manziel. I don't think his scrambling ability is in question, what we should consider is his ability as a passer. Which Tebow has almost none and that's why he is currently without a team. Tebow is a big QB, a guy who can take hits and break tackles. Manziel looks small, if he scrambles around too much I think he's going to get injured often, like RGIII.

This is to judge knocking his 40 time. The 40 yard dash and game speed that is quickness and elusiveness with full pads on are completely different things. We haven't got to see much of him yet. But his very first Drive in a regular season game I didn't see any linebackers catching him as he ran up the middle into the end zone. He will most certainly be a good runner when he becomes the starter. The only thing with Johnny is can he take the hits. Will he be like Russell Wilson and run wisely or be like rg3 and get hurt running. He can run as well as Wilson and is a better Passer than Wilson. And Wilson has a super bowl. What it comes down to on if Johnny will be successful in the NFL is if he can withstand injury and how hard will his work ethic be. If he watches a lot of game tape and practices to improve his passing and form he will no doubt be an elite qb. He has the talent. And the people that think he stinks and will be no good obviously do not watch the NFL and have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. Why are you even watching the guys highlights if you are just going to be a hater. The kid can definitely pass. NFL pro scouts for pro teams would not have told their team to draft him so high if he couldn't pass. In the end of their careers he will no doubt be the most successful qb in this year's draft class

johnny has talent man. a lot of talent. we saw it in the drive when he replaced hoyer against buffalo. but the guy just doesnt have "the drive" yet. and he will never be the player he is capable of until he gets that drive necessary to be a successful NFL player. A good example of someone with "the drive" is tom brady. 6th round pick and knew that failure wasnt an option. look at him now. same goes for Drew Brees. when his shoulder got hurt he was determined to come back and be twice the player he was and look at him now. peyton manning as well, he had the drive to follow in his father's footsteps. Maybe rehab will help johnny regain the drive he had at texas A&M. Thats all he needs. but talent will only take you so far...

I know it sounds crazy, but he should really try to make his comeback with the Chargers. Why the Chargers? Because of *Philip Rivers*. Rivers has like 4 years left: the perfect amount of time for Johnny to develop under him and for Rivers to teach Johnny about responsibility on and off the field (Philip Rivers is a devout Catholic with 8 kids). Not to mention, the Chargers have a solid receiving core with Keenan Allen and the newly-drafted Mike Williams.

Manziel was 2nd in the SEC in total passing yards in 2012. Only the internet trolls could try to discredit a Heisman trophy winner. 😂 What's also crazy is this highlight video was made all from plays just in his first 6 games. #JohnnyFootball

So is he a running back or quarter back come on that pretty much what you showed us 😐😂

oh sheez why do I still come here and watch this video. The guy has faded spectacularly but this is still an incredible video with perfect music.

Make no mistake Johnny will see another world once he gets into the NFL. But I think he will adapt to be A passer just as good as A runner. If you all took time to look at his stats he has A solid passing game! And can throw 50+ yards...
@OhioOwns10 жыл бұрын
lmfao what the fuck was that throw at 3:44 ? if you listen real close, you might hear a girly little "unf" when he throws it. had me laughing for a good minute.
@tretrioeciii10 жыл бұрын
That was a throw for a touchdown.

Manziel shattered all records in NCAA history against all the best defenses in college football. JFB has already made the Brown's millions of dollars in ticket sales & put Cleveland on the map....Watch JFB wreck defenses in the NFL.....

greenlight harma well 2 years have passed and it seems that jfb is the one who got wrecked by nfl defenses. Oh the irony

For a moment, if I didn't paid attention I would've thought this guy is a very good rusher. But this guy is a QB. Some great skills. If he can translate this playing style in the NFL as well he may even become a future hall of famer. But yet, it's way too early to dream that far. Keep it up dude!

If you say Johnny Football can't make it in the NFL, be honest - it's because you don't like him as a person. Anyone who watches one game of his can see he is Michael Vick with half the turnovers and twice the accuracy. Don't buy that comparison? Johnny Football rushed for twice as many yards as a freshman than Vick ever did in a single season in college
@THE-MAD-TECHIE11 жыл бұрын
***** He is bigger than Vick, Brees, and Russell Wilson and only 1 inch shorter than Farve was( 6ft 2in, 222Lbs) and Tony Romo, Geno Smith, and Andy Dalton are also all only 6ft 2. Manzeil is 6ft 1in 215-220 Lbs, Vick is 6ft, Brees 6ft 1/2inch, Wilson is 5ft 11in. Also Manzeils father is 6ft 3 and did not reach that height from what stories tell till he 23, so he could grow a little (he wears a size 15 shoe so its definitely a possibility)

Manziel downfall started when he played a very good first game with Cleveland, but the coach still didn't start him. Vincent Young had similar bad experience with his coach Fisher.

Being a QB you cant always see where the receivers will be after a play is already broken so you just have to improvise. And hes the king of doing that.
