From my good friend - sorry, I know nothing about this clip, I do hope someone will help out here but it is a wonderful athletic Johnny. Enjoy... Wendy

This comes from Johnny Mathis world tour in 1960 with the Hermes Pan dancers, but as to where performing in this video cannot say. However, I saw this portion of the tour in San Francisco at the Geary Theater (often referred to as "The Geary Street Theater". He was most active and performed with the dancers while singing. One routine was taking run on stage similar to what he would do in preparing a high jump, but instead slid into the splits & came up singing. Brought the house down.

The following will provide further info:A gentlemant named Larry Billman wrote the following: I am writing a book about Film Dancers... " He is speaking here about a young lady named Lizanne whom he danced with as a member of the Hermes Pan dancers in the Johnny Mathis world tour 1960-61, joining after the tour returned from Asia. He tells about the "slam-through" rehearsals, at the home of Helen Noga, Johnny's manager at the time.

Wow! Bounce the ball to the beat of the drums and timing of music! Sing and do a bit of gymnastics at the same time without losing breath and tempo! Fantastic!

This clip is of Johnny performing the number (choreographed by Hermes Pan) on The Frances Langford Show (Thanks MARTS54.) In the tour, it was very different with Johnny and the guys shooting hoops and dribbling around the stage. The 4 male dancers are (R to L on your screen: Dick Monahan, Jim Huntley, Fred Curt and ???. Dick and Fred did the tour, the other two did not.) Hermes Pan created the routine for Johnny knowing that he was an excellent baskeball player!

This is from the Francis Langford TV Special. It aired before Johnny went on tour. I assisted the choreographer Hermes Pan & I, Jim Huntley, am the second guy from the right. Other dancers were Freddy Curt, Dick Monihan, & I cannot remember the name of the other dancer.
