This song proves that even a man with all his sins such as Johnny, can even have a relationship with the Lord. There's no doubt in my mind that Johnny is in heaven singing his heart out to the Lord this very moment.

Johnny Noble the lord can forgive all, it just has to be sincere and this man was everything sincere and 100% genuine. I cry listening to this concert.

I wouldn't bet too much of your paycheck on that one. The Bible does say "the tree is known by his fruit". Ahh what was it he said? Oh yes "I'm the only hell my mama ever raised"... Luke 19 '...out of thine own mouth will I judge thee...' I hope he found a place of repentance and faith in Christ before he had his ticket punched....Everyone kneels before God either in this life or before His throne.

I so hope Johnny Paycheck is in Heaven. I recently heard Duane Allen of the Oak Ridge Boys tell the story that Merle Haggard had accepted Jesus as his Savior before he died. Allen also talked about how the love and mercy of Jesus covered the sins of the thief on the cross who pleaded for forgiveness. For me, a sin-scarred person who has failed in life in so many ways, I can only hope and pray that God one day will allow me to see and hear Johnny Paycheck sing The Old Rugged Cross in Heaven. What a moment that would be!

Makes me cry!== Met him many years ago in Florida at the Strawberry festival. Our son was little and had a big black cowboy hat on.== Johnny saw him and said "hey1==You look like me little guy!" I still have a picture we took of him. We lived in DoverFla. and Mel Tillas,s grandson was a friend of my sons,== as they were also in the same class. Dover was Mels hometown.

I remember when this used to come on late Saturday mornings. I loved to watch it because there's something about the rugged, well traveled, beaten voice of an old country singer that just brings such truth to their words. The cherry on top is that Johnny is singing my favorite hymn.

But Johnny got better after this coz he lived 6 more years and recorded more albums and such, this was recorded in 1997. As you see, Grandpa Jones was there and he passed February 19 1998, so this was recorded not long before he passed. After this Paycheck appeared on 'The Jones Show' in 1998 and was in great shape. Paycheck passed feb 19 2003.
