Always amazes me, the misconceptions in people minds. Take Johnny Rivers for example, Back in the early sixties ,a day never passed without hearing at least couple of JR song on the radio. Sold a ship load of records and was on every major show on T.V.. Shows like American Bandstand, The Ed Sullivan Show and maybe Laugh in, Dean Martin or Mervin Griffin . On top of that, so he wouldn't be bored on Friday or Saturday he would do a few concerts like all over the world. Minor Talent ? really ?

Gloria, the oldest Niece, use to come and pick me up and my older Sister up and we would ride around at night in her Impala Convertible and she played the radio all the time and Johnny Rivers was just about one of her favorite singers and those two songs I mentioned were her favorites. She was dating a guy who eventually she married and they broke up for awhile before they got married and she would cry when she heard "Poor Side of Town" on the radio and all those memories of us riding around at night come flooding back when I hear this and I miss her so much.
