A killer classic, often overlooked. Shines was one of the last of the original bluesmen. He toured with R. Johnson for two years and learned well. This gritty nugget from 1975 is not so well known but masterful Delta blues, well worth searching out. Excellent band with awesome harpist Sugar Blue, Ron Rault-bass, Louisiana Red-guitar,harp (2 tracks).

Even though this version was recorded in the 1970's, you can hear the influence of playing alongside greats like Robert Johnson had on Shines' style. What I love most about this song, is that it is in no hurry to end. True Delta Blues.

@@BatheHerWellAndBringHerToMe Uh-oh, seems you did mean for me the line from Hallelujah "you don't really care for music, do ya"? (So not true...love it, and increasingly...)

*"One must seek what one wants..." That's funny, as that was **_all that you ever did_**-- anyway. Selfish is as selfish does... Not what she says, but what she does. "I'll tell you in just a minute," and she then throws her wordy "baggage-dance" around and then walks away, revealing herself as **_a liar_** once again...*

@@BatheHerWellAndBringHerToMe Sorry, I'd misunderstood. (I thought you were worrying about the subject, and I wanted to reassure you (but you didn't need that, you were just being "curious." As I said, that's not sufficient need on someone else's part for me to submit to "nosy" questioning.)) Regarding your seeming hatred and anger, how I wish we could find a productive way to handle it together!

@@bonnies.d.1121 *Oh, no... it looks like it is maybe too late for that. You hadn't & haven't the time, though you'd represented (or misrepresented,) that you did "have the time" for more than a year. And, wow! Your last was just simply another example of exactly the sort of wordy self-justifying ""baggage-dance" dodge that you frequently resort to in order to avoid owning your own failures of honoring the commitments that you've made. You change your own so-called understanding of something to craftily (and with evil motivations, sometimes, it would appear to me,) to avoid the in-depth truth of many, many matters... Divert & distract. And repeat. I'm onto you. It makes me so sad. Too bad. Anyway, dear... it was you who lied that night, and I know that you will still probably try to deny that. Just as you have avoided correcting, by **_your actions_** -- **_any element_** of your un-Godly & **_constant_** impatience. It would have been so very nice to see you make some progress, at least with that issue of impatience. That has very deep roots. But you were **_never ready_** (so far,) for the uncovering of those...*

A major label or somebody like Real Gone Music has got to reissue this whole album on CD so that more of us can own a copy of this. And please do a great job on the mastering.
