That training did lead me to winning 95% of the fights I was in. And I did not follow his no mercy approach. Life is like a snowflake and each confrontation situation is different. And my instructor ended up in prison for a long time. And I tried hard to avoid jail. I would talk my way out of fights that I knew that I could easily win. I would go easy on people who I knew weren't real troublemakers. But people who pulled a knife on me would find themselves getting their arm broken or worse.
