This remains an underground legend as far as classics go. House DJ's wouldn't touch anything with a breakbeat. Techno DJ's thought it was too House. And Underground DJ's used it as a secret weapon. I used to actually rock two copies of "Peter Piper" play the first verse, chop it and go directly back into this, sometimes even putting RUN-DMC on an ash-tray and mixing it backwards. 1993.

This track popped into my head out of the blue and tracked it down on discogs in a few minutes then searched it here. Brings back so many memories.

I knew that the sample came from that earlier track, but remember that most thought it said "gasoline, gasoline, gasoline, gasoline..." The incorrect interpretation of techno/house lyrics added to mystique of the unique and trippy fuckin experience. Dan used to masterfully interweave this into some SICK mixes. Thank you for sharing!

that believe sample , as far as I know . was first used in FIERCE RULING DIVA's "you gotta believe" from 1992. this record was from 1993. the track has also been remixed by DJ Onionz on dub imperial recordings
@champagnecharlie1009 жыл бұрын

+jukeboxdjenga same producer, it's an earlier release of same song... I actually was surprised it said 1993, bc I was pretty sure I heard this earlier than that bc I saw them perform this live at a satellite records rave in upstate ny back around 1991/2...abraxas/ j. porter ( he produced designer loops) is a member of fierce ruling diva...

Funny, I pulled out a a stack of old house records from the only one crate i have left of a few classics. had this record and other vicious muzik records sitting on the ground, while listening to a DJ Garth 93 mix. when this song comes on the mix. Thinking dam whats that sick track. looked up fierce ruling dub , but no remix sounded like this. then I remembered it's literally from this record sitting right here. lol weird. these were these cheap records i would find in the dollar bin in the 90's, most trash, but i always kept the vicious muzik records, reminded me of Murk records, or weird shit like Prestas Hore House. Stuff you throw on late in the night/morning to fuck with geeked out people

Yeah liquid bass vol 1. i have a another one too I think. i don't know a couple crates of my most prized house classics were stolen from me back in the day. Hard for me to look at what I have left sometimes :(

Wow. I had several records stolen from me by my fellow tweaker "friends" back in the 90s. I can't imagine having several of my crates being stolen. I would LOSE MY SHIT! As I'm sure you did. 😡

Yeah. It was a lot of classics that I collected through out the 90's. Pretty much what made me start playing digital and what not. What cab you do though ?
@DustinBowls0036 жыл бұрын
You mean for ripping vinyl or what is cab? 😬
@psychicsidekicks6 жыл бұрын
I meant can not cab. I'm saying I switched to using digital means to DJ rather than vinyl

sounds slow compared to how i remember it being played in the 1993 days
@DustinBowls0036 жыл бұрын
Chris Nova777 you're right, it is slower because back then most DJs sped it up into the 130s BPM. This is the original speed on 33⅓ RPM. At least the bass is deeper.
@ChrisNova7776 жыл бұрын
Sean Burke yup u gotta go up or down to meet the bpm of the next record and in a peak time set that was around 128bpm or 132 somewhere in there
