This is what I miss about Olympic figure skating. I couldn’t care less about how many quads someone can land in a routine. I want to see artists showing their soles on the ice because they love it and find joy in the beauty they can create.

Is a pure heart beat to a skater and to put it aside is like losing a piece of yourself how do you redefine the core of your self .his gift is to invite you in and tell you his story through every movement and gesture. Elizabeth R Well, that's not how it works here. Ballet's spins are waaaaaaay slower than skate's ones. I mean, you could do it; but if you want speed, you can't. So you just look at nothing and get used to it. When you skate, are in something pretty constant (Sorry, idk. Like... A whole Coreo is just one thing) you don't stop, so don't really have time to feel dizzy. I mean... When you finish a spin, just gotta close your eyes, open them again and ever keep going. By the way, even if someone is feeling some bad, no one is going to stop after a spin, that would be pretty dumb, jajaja Stoping could make it worse. Even if you are doing just spins and not a coreo. As someone who knows nothing about skating it very much feels like Olympic skaters tailor their performance to strategically complete jumps and tricks where they can get the most points. It feels like they coordinate their artistic elements around the jumps, but when Johnny gets on the ice he skates he like there is no one else in the room. Its as if he is embracing the artistry of the music that incorporates jumps. It doesn't feel forced. I find it much more enjoyable to watch.

This popped up on my recommended list now in 2022. Today, it is technical proficiency over sheer beauty. This wonderful performance has both. I think Johnny Weir is the best skating announcer in the business. Unfortunately, he makes the show about himself often as much as the show is about the contestants. If you overlook that and just listen to his commentary, he excels. Both he and Tara Lipinski are an added benefit of competitive skating. I appreciate what they do.

Wow Johnny 🤩 the list of superlatives this performance deserves is enormous. Every. Last. Detail. is executed with precision, intention, and raw talent. They just don’t make ‘em like they used to!!! Stunning 🤩

I am so glad that I found who Johnny Weir is! It is the best thing to watch him skate and follow his persona on social media, I'm loving him with purest type of love. I wish he could stay young forever and skate beautifully for sake of us all

This is such a beautiful, lyrical, intentional expression of this song. The way he accentuates the words with his arms and hands, and his whole body movements. He’s an artist.
