I distinctly recall during the competition, the part where I held my breath was when I knew the 3A was supposed to come up in his programs. He landed them then of course! (Though I don't think the judges were being as strict on the rotations then as they are now.) It says a lot though about how GREAT Stephane's skating is that, had he skated his best in the OGs and done everything else, he could have won without landing a single 3A.

Yeah, I know that. But the 3Axel has always been the jump that has gave him the most trouble even when he was able to land it. (Though back then, he was probably starting to get injured and it just got worse over time) I remember and interview years ago about the quad and he responded that he was actually pretty confident with his quad and it was the 3A he was having trouble with. I was at 2006 Worlds. During practices he kept trying the 3A over and over and kept missing! It was so painful!

One top skater of the 21st century. One guy who creates attention for himself off the ice and makes the gen public believe he's more accomplished at skating because they remember him. Hint: The one who CAN'T land a triple axel is the greatest male skater of all time. (Sob! It's his Achilles' heel. The 3Axel!) We probably won't see another like Stephane for a very long time. Still, they are very cute together even though I really don't like Johnny. If they'd kiss, I might like Johnny better.
