This is pure magic. No pedals, just straight into the amps. Johnny, his thumb-pick, cord, amps. Nothing digital at all. All analog. Saw him then and every show I could when he came to town after that. Just fantastic. Watch his pinky finger bends. Awesome. Ive been trying to do these pinky bends for 40 plus years and close but he does it so easy. Randy and Richard are awesome. What a power trio. Great is an under statement.

This performance is not from April nor is it from Connecticut. I was at the April show in Waterbury, and it supported the Still Alive and Well album. Best show I ever saw. He was on fire. This show is from Nov 7, 1973, from the Palace theater in NY City. Taped got Don Kirchners Rock Concert. A couple of the songs played ended up on his next album, Saints and Sinners.

The Palace Theater in Waterbury had the best concerts in CT during the early 70's and this was the best of them all.

Johnny really wanted to rock that night!! No doubt. Dam near blew the roof off. Burned up all the oxygen. So hot, couldn’t breathe. Had to go to the hospital after the show for third degree burns.🔥🔥🔥

This was my first concert. 16 years old. Fantastic! But the show only lasted about 50 minutes. Livingston Taylor was the warmup.

Haha! One of those unbelievably poor matchups! I saw Poco and Gentle Giant at Yale’s Woolsey Hall, and The Persuasions opening for Sparks at the Bushnell in Hartford. Makes you wonder what demented booking agent thought those would be good bills!

I was at this show and like Drake was also 16 that year. I always remembered what an incredibly short concert it was and couldn't remember why. Any ideas?

I missed the STILL ALIVE AND WELL show at the Chicago Ampitheatre because my parents wouldn't let me go being 16 years old. I'm still pissed! Finally saw him at the Aragon Ballroom for the CAPTURED LIVE TOUR. We saw him 13 times. GOD BLESS JOHNNY AND MUDDY

Saw "Saints And Sinners" show in Springfield, MA.; early '74 I believe. Same band; excellent set. James Gang opened with a "Bang"--about fifty people in audience knew who Tommy Bolin was and the rest of us just lost it with surprise.
