This was the best video on how to set up a vertical garden. Thank you for the very thorough explanations and this gives me hope that I can do this.

very nice video. noticed you were working fairly hard to hammer those pipes..holding the hammer at the end instead of the kneck allows the hammer to do the majority of the work.

If you had 20 towers, what size tank would you recommend and how long would it last?

Do you have a video showing the set up of an injection board ? I have the VGC-1100 and getting ready to set it up. Any recommendations or schematics that would help? There is four manifolds with six valves that came with the kit. Where do these go? Thank you for any help with this.

Question, considering these plants are not benefiting from the minerals and nutrients that they would get from soil, is the plant still as nutritious to us humans?

How efficient is this irrigation system? My concern is that the lower pots won't get the same nutrient concentration as the top pots. Is this a valid concern?

I have Mr sticky a similar idea and used dry ingredients mix into water.I did find my caulis, cabbage and beets grew better in upper layers. they were well grown but lower ones did not perform as well for these veg.The straps did OK on lower levels. overall happy with growth and into 3rd lot of veg and even reused the coco peat with some topping up

How do you train tomatoes to grow down, instead of up?

+deanna morris Tomatoes naturally grow down on the ground since they are a vine plant. The reason most tomato plants are seen growing upward in gardens is because people place stakes or cages around them, and tie them on to prevent the tomatoes from resting against the ground and being accessible to pests. The reason why this system works for the tomatoes is because they are already up off of the ground, and the placement of the pots allows for them to grow down naturally, which is also better for the vine since tomatoes are heavy and put a lot of strain on the vine when tied upward. This will allow for the tomato to use less energy trying to keep the vine healthy and send all that energy into the tomato itself. If the vines get too long and heavy, you can crop them (or cut off excess vines), just like almost any other plant, to prevent the weight from damaging the vine. Just know that wherever you crop a vine, it will branch off into 1 or 2 more sections and create more tomatoes there! Keep an eye on your cropped areas just in case they grow too large again...an easy way to do this is to gently tie a small ribbon around the end of the areas you cropped and check them from time to time for regrowth. You can also grow tomatoes from hanging pots as well, but it won't have an irrigation system and you'll have to water them A LOT. Tomatoes require a lot of water!

So why does the very bottom bucket have holes in it? Why are you not pumping it back to the nutrient bucket and saving it. Just seams like it’s a waste of product and water. I was told that hydroponics was a water saving system for gardening.

This is actually not a hydroponics system. Not sure what they labeled it that way. Its just a vertical tower garden

top drip down to next container, down again and eventually to pot on the ground which eventually seeps into the actual ground .
