Years ago I heard the Father say, "Do you think you have to PAY Me to take care of you?". Of course, that is exactly what I was thinking, having been raised in a Minister's home who taught the "mint and rue", down to the nickel from when I was a child. When an adult wife and mother, destitute and trying to argue with a husband who was not taught this, the Father spoke this to my desperate heart when I was crying out to him about why He was not taking care of our needs. I was shocked by His question and began my own, open minded investigation of New Testament teachings. Galatians 5:3 jumped out to me...that if I was trusting in any of the Old Law, then I was a debtor to the whole old law. That chapter was very revealing I went through the NT teachings and saw that the early church took care of each other, not a building's "Balcony Fund". I did a concentrated study of Covenant and found that if I am in Covenant with God, EVERYTHING I have been given charge of is His...likewise, He says everything He is and has is mine. I don't "owe" Him 10%....actually 100% in my care is His. I am His Steward. I am to be led by the Holy Spirit in all things, including giving. I began to follow His leading and we became so full of genuine joy in our giving. It was full of satisfaction and adventure, to see the blessings that followed our obedience. We have never known lack since, never been destitute since, even when my husband became disabled, as we give into the needs of others as He leads! Thank God that the Body of Christ is shaking off Old Law and beginning to teach walking in it's fulfillment in Christ!!

Thank you, this was a very thoughtful teaching. As an adult, I have fully tithed for the better part of 40 years. I do think it was partly out of law, but I also have always tried to give generously too. Maybe, I need to have a sit down with my Father about where and how much I am to give.

Yours and one other ministry are the only ones that have not taken them down!!!!! Thank you! Halleluiah!!! The Church is suppose to be a "family" to care for one another NOT a corporation that has a boss and employees !

Excellent explanation of tithe and first fruits ❤ thank you 🙏 I was asking God just yesterday what is the first fruit? I’m very involved with giving to ministries in Israel 🎉

Jesus paid it all, we don’t have to according to the new law/way. I love to give and honestly it’s heartfelt and warms my heart to help others as God puts it on my heart❤

No one should be pressured into giving! Giving is good! However God says , Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

I’ve struggled with the fact that my church I go to has a policy in place that if you’re on staff, you are expected to pay 10% or more. I’m not sure if they ask what you make or you are expected to turn in paperwork…only a few are paid staff. I believe that all the Vineyard churches are required to do this? I’ve heard so much negative about the 501c3, that I do struggle with going to a church that has one. I’m to the point that I wonder if home churches are where I need to be. I live where there’s a church on every corner, and such a deep religious spirit that it seems no matter how ‘spirit-filled’ the church is, there is still not a lot of depth.

Paul said to give to those in need so they will have enough and then if in the future you may be in need they can help you!

Sometime ago you shared a teaching series Johnny did on the spirit of Jezebel. It was originally recorded a good number of years ago. Would it be possible to re share this series again as I can’t find it on your KZbin anymore? Thank you.

I like when the Jesus told the rich young ruler to give to the POOR! He did not say give to your rich friends or their ministries but Jesus wanted him to give without having any sense of to giving even without the exception of a return! as Jesus wanted to know his heart!

I never understood why a whole congregation needs to pay 10% or more to a church so the pastor can pay for his/her mortgage, and their bills yet so many in the church struggle. A pastor shows up to teach one day of the week for an hour yet he expects to get paid full time. Why don't pastors work a job? If a pastor wants to get 10% then he needs to be in church doing work every day and even evangelize. Too many pastors are comfy in their church walls and don't do anything for the poor or the widow.

None of the full time pastors that I have known worked only one day a week. Most were servants who visited the sick, the hospitalized and infirmed in their congregations. Many had active roles in the larger communities as well, serving on diverse boards or promoting godly causes. As well, as prayer and study time in the word that they passed along to us on Sunday mornings and other times.. Although not as scheduled now, we also attended services throughout the week - prayer, bible study, and praise and worship. I didn't ever really belong to very large congregations, so I cannot speak to how things work in such churches, but I for one championed paying a workman who was worthy of his wages. I do believe there are abuses and inequities in the best churches, but I also pray and trust God to handle the need for correction. I am not trying to be critical, but I hope you understand that if you feel that way, you may want to look for another church family.

We kinda got the whole idea of the tithe from the Bible, so the question is a funny one. 😅

Like a ministry asking for $1000 for a tallit from them!!!!!! or pay and get their anointing !!! or fundraising to raise money????? These people should go to God and ask him for help not begging and manipulating people to get money!

The Levites were representation of God to the people that is why He said you have robbed me and the Nation!
@diannahaw7264Ай бұрын
The board should not be the pastor and his family, the congregation should be in in FULL knowledge of ALL the money and where it goes! These ministries that bring in millions is a problems as the money that given to them and affords and over the top lifestyle I believe causes their flesh to many times do wrong things! As you can see of some of the information about certain ministries in the news! There is no reason for these ministers??? to live way above their congregations lifestyle! if they are living off the people and not in a secular job ! If they work a secular job they can be rich and live however they want! no problem it is their money!
