Johnny - my husband, Brendan Loonam was from Banagher and loved this song very much. He passed in Janaury 2019 but he admired you and your work-- and I still listen to this song feeling very close to him when I do-- thank you.

I'm a country music artist from Australia. I stumbled onto this Irish fellow and I'm just amazed. How simplistic his music but how beautiful. I am now playing his songs. Thankyou Johnny McEvoy.

So my aussie friend..open up a spot in your creative soul...and write a song based on this format..as many have..and write an aussie song about yer wonderfully conquered by Chinese communist demons, likeAnderson and so many others.

This is one brilliant song. The fear for Irish folk music is no one is now singing these ballads. Young singers are good but the feelings are leaving from their interpretation of the songs. Johnny is the king of story telling through song. Old school irish folk singer.

Johnny! this beautiful song can only be understood by those who have had to leave their country, their birthplaces, among them I am one, my heart is always where you grew up, I listen and a tear appears on my cheek :)

Johnny, for me no one can sing a ballad like you, we met one night in the Skerry Inn , you had just recorded Carrickfergus, I had a boat there and we planned to go out and record video but next day weather came bad so we never got out , but I always remember us sharing a drink together it might have been long ago but I remember as if it were yesterday Take Care Tom
