2:26 PROtip: so you don't get gouges at the end of a spot weld (like the one at the time stamp), either cut your metal with a little bit of excess in that area ( a small elephant's foot) or add a third piece of metal right at the end. In either method, you just grind the excess off or file it away with a small needle file.

Had the same issue with mine! Found the line under the intake manifold was leaking and allowing coolant in the oil but not oil in the coolant. I suspect the same for you… i fixed it by getting some copper tubbing from the local parts store and cutting it to length, sticking the copper tubing inside the flexible hose and made it a TIGHT fit. Never had any issues out of it again. Truck is looking amazing man! Do you have plans on trying to add their transmission to it when they come out with it?

As for regular car engines, pressure up the cooling system and see where it leaks... But here I suggest adding air to the system and using a squirt bottle with soapy water. If it's o rings, I find swapping between metric/sae sometimes has a slight variation in thickness so one sometimes solves a problem the other can't seal.

Hi I have just bought one of these, have you sorted the water getting into the oil? I believe you can get the high temp green O rings for the liners now, I have not looked to see what mine came with but in the instructions it suggests that you use the high temp green rings so I don’t understand why they don’t come with them 🤔 anyway I will look in the box and see what I have. Looks great man. Can i just ask on most vehicles that would have the full size of this engine. The motor is usually in the middle of the frame rails going up and down middle not front to back. Do you know what I mean though they try to get most of the engine weight underneath the top of the frame rails like when you po the hood on your muscle car your not looking at the belts because the motor is lower that's all even on trucks more of the motor is above the rails on trucks but still not on top of the rails

small critique: adding the pickup tube to the radiator outlet guarantees an air bubble in the radiator, which will prevent complete filling of the radiator, and will reduce your total thermal conductivity, slightly. I would suggest getting rid of the pickup tube, and making sure you get the bubbles out.

Ok, great project, I was just talking about somebody doing this! As for the oil issue, that's a pretty catastrophic leak for that short about of run time, I don't think it's a gasket or seal. 90% sure it's the coolant tube or fitting seal running under the intake manifold. Gotta have a clip on there, and make sure the fitting is sealed well. I thought I remember watching your build and not seeing you put a clip on. If you ran it at all without a vented overflow, it probably shot coolant right out. I spent a lot of time fixing coolant leaks at various spots in mine.

If I had one of these engines I take it it's sent inside a crate and its already assembled. If that's the case I would completely dismantle the entire engine to see if there's anything I can fabricate or replace that would make the engine run better and more efficient. I would most definitely change out o-rings and I would replace every gasket.
@teebone50722 ай бұрын
Any chance that whoever assemble that engine got the heads on the wrong side? Would explain the exhaust manifolds being upside and possible coolant in the oil ? I dont know just an idea.
