When I was about 10 years old in 1986, I went to summer art school in Trinity Sq. Love this place! Thanks Johnny!

At 27:56, if you pause, you can see the two sets of railings in The Eaton Centre. The new clear glass and silver and then to the right on the stairs of the east wall, they have the old white, pipe ones. I love the old white ones, they are more consistent with the buildings design. Not sure why they got rid of them. Anyhoo

The Eaton Center has always been my favourite mall and have strolled along its three levels too many times to count. It's so sad it's namesake store is no more, but it's nice to see the mall still sports that great Canadian department store name. I remember feeling such sadness walking from the Yonge Dundas entrance through the barren landscape of the dead store in the late 90's, and the introduction of the food court on the lower level. There used to be three book stores in the mall (and The World's Biggest Bookstore just north of the Atrium on Bay as well). I took my American girlfriend through the mall back in November 2000 (we were in town for the Royal Winter Fair) and she loved the mall's floating Christmas tree decor so much that she took the idea back to her work and they used it for her office Christmas decorations. The last time I was there was the summer of 2019 and took pictures of the lack of customers at the Microsoft Store as compared to the long lines at the Apple Store. And that Roots store you passed on the north end of the mall has been there seemingly forever.

@Bojan V I think it’s because Microsoft products never gained the cult status that Apple products have.

@Bojan V, I often wondered that myself.

I'm so annoyed that The World's Biggest Bookstore got shut down and the building demolished. It was my favourite hangout in the area of Eatons. So much interesting stuff to read.

13:55-The old south food court is no longer there because Movenpick (the Swiss restaurant chain which had set up shop in Canada [in Toronto] and which had built the Movenpick Marche restaurant in BCE Place/TD Canada Trust Tower as well as the south food court) had pulled out of Canada, shutting down both.

I have not been to the Eaton Centre in years so it's nice to visit it on the holidays. The Bay Store always reminds me of Macy's in NYC. This was a nice walk, thank you! Johnny, wishing you a very Merry Christmas, hope Santa is good to you!🎄🎄🎅⛄👍
