Thank You. My dad passed 9/27/16 his funeral was last Wednesday and I'm at his gravesite as I type this my aunt just sent me a link to this song. So all I can say is thank you. I'm feeling what I feel and have no apologies. My dad was the best! My brother is also with him at the same site.

This song came on as I returned to work after a week off from my mom's passing on 12.15.16 and I was obsessed... it felt good to hear it and feel the feelings of it all

why these guys are so underrated ?
@ThereIsNoLord8 жыл бұрын
Because they have a TERRIBLE band name! It is ridiculous! I think it is the main factor holding them back.
@ortizlydia228 жыл бұрын
That's the dumbest reason I've heard. Have you searched throughout music history? There are worse names then that. They are overlooked because their music is raw & real. They don't talk about stupid ish like everyone else out here! They are a happily married drama free couple so good old America doesn't want much to do with them. If their music was trashy then they'd get play

No one has ever heard of them, and their ridiculous band name definitely shares part of the blame, maybe with bad luck. If you think about a young singer-songwriter-type duo, you don't think "Johnnyswim". It is just a self-indulgent reference to a stupid personal story. If they had better management, they would be repackaged under another name, that is more consistent with what their act is like.

Actually, it was the "ridiculous" name that made me decide to see what they were about. When I saw someone on I follow on IG post about them, I was like, "Johnnyswim? What. Is. That?" Then I heard the first few seconds of "Don't Let It Get You Down," and before the song was over, I had bought everything they had on iTunes. Different strokes for different folks. I'm sure they're cool with where they are. Not everyone is in this industry for "fame."

This is a message I wish more people understood.. I experienced a miscarriage in the spring that led to surgery and chronic pain in my pelvis. People can be cruel in their helpful intentions. There is so much pressure to be ok so others feel comfortable. I had to stand up for myself too many times that I was allowed to grieve and go through the process to get through this and not just put on a mask. Thanks for this song and letting everyone know grieving is good. So much of life is to get to a product…but to have permission to be is a great gift.
