Thank u for sharing so many insightful, deeply personal, reflective and meaningful thoughts, i appreciate it and hope u continue to find the purpose in whatever u are doing ❤ thank you for being under-rated, it’s refreshing in a sea of ego and narrow minds.

Hi Jon and Pat, Hearing about Jon’s journey and his vision for leadership genuinely moves me. As an employee, it warms my heart to see how deeply he care for his team, understand their struggles, and support their dreams. This kind of empathy and compassion reassures me that there are truly good people in the world, proving that not all bosses are just interested in extracting as much as possible from their employees while offering minimal compensation. Although my contribution would be modest, I’d love to support the both of you through a "Super Thanks" donation on KZbin. Would it be possible to set that up so I can contribute and be part of your journey?

as a fellow entrepreneur at 23 (ive been doing it for 3 yrs) i struggled so much with setting boundaries for myself with my staffs, partners and customers. after 3 years i feel like i finally got a hang of it. I needed staffs and partners that are willing to work with me and improve the business together. Toxic ex staffs and business partners has always made me hate working and ive thought of quitting multiple times. My mental health the past 3 years has never been stable and i lost myself. After i got new business partners to work with me and straighten out my boundaries and position as a boss, i feel like my business is finally starting anew and i have a vision for the business.

Thanks Jon for sharing. Same creative sphere, but on the employee & MNC side so its v relatable. These 4 years i've been v grateful for the exp to be a partner to my boss to build our team - and its never been clearer to me of the necessity of caring about the bottom line and living in fear of what we need to do. omg it was so darn hard making tough decisions on underperformers or just to have to let deserving people go or without a raise so really felt you on the story about 'the five' Question from me: if pat wasn't with you from the start, how do you think this adventure would have gone both in biz terms, and as an emotional comfort?

Hahaha this is so telling! Now I know why you could never hire me back then. You said you couldn't afford it, at the time I didn't believe it. I do now. As I start my own thing today, I look back at those times I was extra hard with my bosses and could have been more empathetic. After working with and around MNC companies you learn a few things. There is a time to play hardball and there's a time not to. I shouldn't have played so hard so often but I can take these learnings and past business mistakes into my own company now. Thanks for sharing. This was very insightful!
@JOHNPATCROSS4 ай бұрын
I couldn’t just hire you. I’d need to be able to dangle incentives for you. You’d come with a bonus. And I must be able to answer this question for you “what’s next for me?” And I wouldn’t have been able to answer that back then.

Hi Pat and Jon, thank you so much for sharing this video and particularly found it very relatable. I am also in a leadership position whereby I feel there will definitely be somebody who will not be happy with whatever decisions I or the company make. Similarly, I am also very emotionally attached to "key" people within the company. How do you try to still be a "friend" and not be emotionally damaged at the end of the day? How do you also identify the "next batch" of key personnels as well? Ps, do you plan to hold leadership workshops?

You shared alot about success stories and your experience. But in your view, when is it time to call quits and really close shop/stop persevering or burning money. Where is the line between perseverance and blind hope? Should it be a quantitative thing on time/money or should you push for it till the end (assuming it is not the case that you do not have the money, just whether it is the wisest use of the money). Is there a way to litmus test yourself on whether your vision is still sound and possible despite the unfavorable present.

You look at all the vastly sucessful entreprenuers like Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Li Ka Shing, Jensen Huang, etc. These guys are damn difficult to work with and are no different to slave drivers. They are no "friends" to their employees. They treat their employees like dirt. They have zero tolerance to non performance and drive the top performers till they break and cry. Till most of their employees are resentful, scared and anxious around them. Friends are the last thing they would describe these sucessful entreprenuers. But guess what? Company is growing, money is pouring in and the employees get rewarded handsomely either through stock options or profit share. So they remain. They get squeezed, cry, fustrated, stressed out and overworked until they quit or drop dead. As long as they made sure the company remains vastly profitable. Which in turn creates more jobs for others. That's how it works.
