Thank you John! Виртуозное исполнение, чистая техника ног, артистичные руки- придраться не к чему. Это больше 60 лет назад! Браво советскому балету!

Beautiful interpretation of the music. Their artistry is so apparent. the importance of the accents being in the right place to accenutate the music. Really a treasure of a clip.

I love how fairy of the golden vine (violante) is absolutely furious and not smiling at all. Now ballerinas are coached to smile in every variation.Fairies all have the same personality and it is extremely boring.Thanks for sharing by the way.This was so fun to watch.

I started watching online Ballet about 2 years ago....eventually I will try to see a live Ballet-I live a few hours away from NYC, so I could definitely get up there to see NYC Ballet or the American Ballet Theatre. Enjoying these videos is such wonderful outlet for me!

glad you're liking what i'm uploading! i remember going to see a ballet performance in London and being inexorably drawn to the art form - so that now i am compulsively uploading footage of performances here :) seeing things in the theatre is great but footage is wonderful too - particularly for legendary dancers no longer with us.

I love being able to see the artistry of dancers back then, my only regret is that I couldn't see the Lilac Fairy here, but apart from that this is fantastic! Something that I've noticed from these old recordings is that dancers would dance much quicker back then than in a lot of modern interpretations of the same dances. Does this have to do with how technique has changed over the years, or does it look faster because those cameras record things in a way that everything looks faster than in real life? (If anyone knows feel free to let me know) :)

Позволю себе вам ответить. Да,танцевали быстрее. И да,техника изменилась))). Она стала значительно хуже. Везде в мире. К сожалению.

Thank you and Romeo to confirm. These are apparently very close to the version we saw today, many different details but the exact same intonation. Though these days many girls can't quite show us this intonation. Once upon a time, there was the greatest ballet company called Kirov. I don't know today.
@JohnRaymondHall
@JohnRaymondHall 8 жыл бұрын
hi! yes, it's a clear and specific intonation - very sadly lacking today as you say. just uploaded 1965 footage of Makarova performing 'the dying swan' and Natalia Bessmertnova and Mikhail Lavrovsky performing i know not what - my mind has just gone blank - you will know the ballet and it would be great if you give me a nudge about it! :) how are you these days? i've been not very active here but feel the impulse to upload things again! this is the 10th years i've had a YT channel - that includes ones axed by YT!!!

John Hall Congratulation for your epic 10 years. I've been a lot absent from the vids these days, very busy to prepare myself for my niece's wedding. Luckily. a tube dress by Dolce & Gabbana still fits me but I have to buy everything else. I even bought two pairs of pearl jewelry. One is conservative, rather big cream colored necklace and pierces. But I changed my mind and bought more creative gray pearl ones which look like silver pearl fruit tree with morning mist.Now I have to decide my make up tone. I'm so greedy.
@JohnRaymondHall
@JohnRaymondHall 8 жыл бұрын
thanks for the congratulations - it does seem a kind of milestone! i've been away from YT for a bit or, rather, only here infrequently - but i feel i'm back on a more regular way now. Dolce & Gabbana sounds just the thing for your niece's wedding - you might outshine the bride! honestly the earrings like silver pearl fruit tree with morning mist sound beautiful - is the D and G dress patterned or plain? greedy can be good!
@Bnesque
@Bnesque 8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your coming back. We have to care outside of YT world. But without you, I'm a bit bored with conversation. The dress is plain, black and tight. So I have to add a Kenzo jacket. In my younger days, I don't care who's the protagonist in the wedding. But I became more modest and caring these days. A beauty of growing old is like that?
@JohnRaymondHall
@JohnRaymondHall 8 жыл бұрын
more come backs than many an old Hollywood movie star! 'plain, black and tight' - sounds classic! and a Kenzo jacket - what's not to like! yes growing older has, in my view, many beauties and leads to deeper understandings - good that there are some positives to throw against the losses. but seriously i feel much more in charge of myself and my life and it's a very good place to be in. and my memory is still good - i am happy!
