in the beginning the concept of the MV was different, he wanted IU to star in it, but she was very busy, so they changed it....interesting, what was the original idea. IU complemented the song perfectly, her and Suga's voices match perfectly. 😍💜💜💜 you should definitely check out more IU - it's a great trip :) The killing voice💜

I think IU’s lyrics are poetic, but Suga doesn’t do anything by accident, so every word and syllable have meaning. For example, lots of double negatives like “Nobody doesn’t know anymore” could “mean everybody knows now” or we are all in this together. And as I look at her parts more and more, they all point to the togetherness of the experience that we all went through during the pandemic. I really need to grammar-nerd out on every line, which I am very much looking forward too.

I thought it was interesting that there are references in this song that were in IU song Eight. Sand Castles, and having lost everything. This can't be just a coincidence, which meaning that like IU song which which is about her struggles with the tragic deaths of friends parts of this could be Suga expressing the same feelings compounded by his own journey. Knowing IU I fully expect the meaning behind her lyrics are words of support and understanding for what he is dealing with. According to Rolling Stone IU is one of the 200 greatest singers of all time, meaning that when you remove those on the list no longer with us or no longer actively singing IU is one of the greatest singers in the world today, period. Not just kpop.

For the chorus, since you asked, after hearing what Yoongi had to say about the MV, IU’s lyrics feel like a genius and purposeful way to somewhat describe what we might’ve been feeling during the pandemic-disjointed, disconnected, confused, unsure of what things meant (going forward). At least, that’s how I took it after some thought. I know there are some who poked fun at the lyrics, but I think it was a brilliant way to express how so many felt during that time.

If you read poetry, even in your native language, sometimes things sound “weird” to us and don’t make sense. Like what is the poet trying to say? And why don’t they just say it out right? -Because poets are artists. Those who paint may color the sky green or the grass purple and we try to interpret. Sometimes it’s just how the artist defines beauty and other times there is a deeper meaning. Same thing with lyrics. Sometimes artistic choice. The beauty of the words together. Sometimes it’s where they put the punctuation and other meanings of words, etc. -As someone who dabbles in painting and poetry this is just how I see it. I've watched several of your posts for BTS and have a great appreciation for the way you are showcasing your reviews. Just downloaded form Big Hit. Suga can no longer hide that he is also a great vocalist, and not just a great rapper, producer, songwriter,and a really great human. He keeps his cards close to his chest, so when he shows his "hand" we get to realize who he is.💜 Side note Jimin has 2 remixes of LikeCrazy, one is a deep house remix and the other is a UK remix both the English version. I think the lyrics are clearer in the English version for meaning sometimes vs the translation, I do love the Korean/English version also.

Thank you for this reaction, John. I love the way Suga is expanding the facets of his talent. He's singing in a slightly higher key than he used to and it's showing off his vocals to advantage. Go Yoongi! I am always moved by Suga's lyrics; simple words that pack an emotional punch. If there is anything I'm nitpicky about it's actually the English lyrics in IU's parts (beautifully evocative voice) because they don't make much sense and I'm not surprised you're confused and wondering what she was actually meaning. Something seems to have been lost in translation or is it that BTS are so influenced by African American hiphop artists and they tend to follow their use of language? I don't know, I haven't followed hip hop and am only now learning to listen to JCole, for example, through Hobi. Regardless of my little nitpick, this is a beautiful song, the contrast of Suga and IU's vocals is such a pleasure to listen to.

I think that, as Yoongi said this song is what he felt during the pandemic, if you tied it to that time frame, the lyrics will make sense. So time is yet now right here to go,>Seems time stood still but yet it's still going on I know you know, everything does know>we are all in the same boat that time, everyone was experiencing the same same thing Nobody doesn't know anymore>and we are all clueless on what to do at that time That's how I understand it. It seems to me that IUs part is just like a poem, doesn't really need to make sense, it's poetry. And Suga said that this video was to show the songwriting process...so maybe it's a string of words he started with to come up with a song.

Suga's voice and lyrics and visuals were amazing in this song/video. But I'm glad I'm not the only one who is completely confused by IU's lyrics/chorus. It's like a bunch of word thrown together that don't make sense. 🤷‍♀️ I thought after I read them outside of the video that they would make more sense, but I am still confused. 😕
