Actually he does. In this show he was a guest help, the other guy is the contestant, while I dont think he upstaged him here because he wrote the song well enough to give ZhouShen the supporting part so to speak, the score suffers because a lot of the reviews thought ZhouShen took the spot light for being too good. No joke. Btw the show is about siger songwriter. I think not only did this guy sang pretty well himself it's his arrangement in writing the part for ZhouShen that also helps, so I disagreed with the review juries on thia. However there is another contestant who I actually really like and I think her singing is actually really unique, her guest he'll was also ZhouShen, but because shes a female and the tone is more similar to ZhouShen and the way her song wasnt really written to be meant for a duet, the difference in their singing skill really shows and he totally upstaged her in that performance. I'm not saying he did it intentionally, he felt so bad for trying to help but end up being the reason they didnt get a higher score. I saw some other show with him, zhoushen is really on a different level to most singers, if a singer is not decently skilled, it's always magnified when they sing next to someone like ZhouShen or perform right before or after him. Zhoushen himself has incredible control and hes also better than most hes duet with, in controling his harmony and all that, so as not to upstage the other person when it's not his turn in the spot light, but it cant be helped if the other person are just a lot less skilled than he is. Its like gettig Celine Dion to duet with a random the voice contestant that arent even the better ones. The skill difference became so obvious that you dotn need to be a professional or have a trained ear to hear which singer is a lot more skilled. I mean between ZhouShen and the other guy in this video, I'm sure a trained ear, a professional would be able to not pick on some bits that shows ZhouShen is better at singing, but ita virtually non existent to most people with untrained ear, and that's good enough, they dotn have to be equally skilled as ZhouShen.

Yes, yes! You are watching and reacting to Zhou Shen finally. I am so excited. He is the vocal mentor to young singers on this particular show. He was not competing but supporting the other new singer who was competing. You know it is Charlie / ZS as soon as he opens his mouth to sing. You need to fall down the rabbit hole of Zhou Shen. So many astounding performances. This one does not even begin to show what he can do. He can sing anything and has an undefinable vocal tone. Check out Moonlight with his vocal runs and complex melody, just gorgeous. Then watch You’re too Cruel to see his amazing stage presence and vocal flexibility - he raps, sings pop, Chinese opera etc. in one song. Another showcase is his new song Decoded from the movie of the same name. The live performance on TMEA is stunning. More vocal acrobats with Silence of the Lambs. Check out Baby/Dasvidaniya a mix of Russian and Chinese. I think you will like his performance of She’s a Dark Star. His voice soothes and heals in DaYu or Floating Lights. The most famous singer in China. Selling out concert venues in seconds. He just released an album and is the king of OSTs for Chinese and Japanese movies. You probably have heard his voice on Japanese games and anime and did not realize it. He often has 3 or 4 songs in the top 20 of Chinese music charts. He even did a cover of Unravel. The original artist gave him the original arrangement to use of course Zhou Shen does his own version. He speaks 6 languages and sings in 12 languages. I could list many more. He is also the sweetest, most humble guy. Super funny. Succeeded despite much bullying and discrimination due to his voice not changing in his teen years. Almost gave up singing. We, his fans, are hoping for a Dimash/Zhou Shen (Charlie) duet. He is the beloved little prince of the Chinese music scene. He just needs to break through to the west so we can have the privilege of hearing him live. BTW all his performances are live. The industry has dubbed him the walking CD as he sounds like a studio version when he sings live.
