Taehyung told a story how early on his parents (who weren't well off) sent him a padded jacket so he wouldn't get looked down on in Seoul; unfortunately it was red when everyone was actually wearing black ones.. Now he can afford to wear whatever the heck he wants.
@emilyl10942 жыл бұрын
I was thinking that Taehyung's parents probably bought that red padded jacket during sales at a discounted price which was more affordable to them. They didn't think much about the red colour as long as it was a branded padded jacket for their son.

V uses all types of vocal ranges and sound effects in their discography . Back in the days in 2013 they used to give him one line only because they didn't know how to use his baritone voice but since 2014 (since war of hormones era) they knew how versatile taehyung's voice is and they started using it a lot as you can see ☺️

For other song that V and jimin's voice sounds cool is "ma city", RM's voice also sound more rough at there (i think u will like the song 😁).And for jimin high notes i got impressed on their song "let me know" (it's produced by Suga). Jimin high note is more impressive on the concert live stage for that song

I love how BTS is always about calling things out and social commentary. Who else lectures their fans like this, although they are educating too. South Korea is hyper focused on looks and status so it’s a particular issue there and members like Suga, V, and JK came from much more poor families. JHope and Jimin from middle class (although to afford dance classes for him JHopes mom took a second job which he wrote about his deep love for her in his utterly touching song “Mama”). RM was a more upper middle class. Jin was the sole rich kid. They’ve even talked about how as they have made more money are they betraying their ideas by having so much money and buying nice things now, and for myself it’s about living beyond your means. So although they are all strongly into fashion they are about fashion as art and how they look (they’ve had interviews about their rather deep thoughts on fashion) and less wearing a brand for swag. They’ve earned their money so can spend it but also donate a ton. So yes for the White House trip V had a $50k bag he carried and Suga had a $40k Birkin bag but they’ve earned it. Similar songs are Baepsae and also GoGo total bops with social commentary. And no they can not lip sync at all it’s hilarious how bad they are 😂. For my kids I have them earn things they want with chores etc and let them make me and offer of what they think is a fair trade.
@siriuslylucky1302 жыл бұрын
Nope…no NORTH FACE anywhere in my house! I’m 63 and sooo blessed that my parents were poor. I knew other kids had the fashion icon of the time but I don’t think it ever really mattered. If my mom said no, I was content. I’m sooo glad because I’m the same way now…no LV, JIMMY CHOO shoes, I don’t even see the appeal in them. Call me crazy but I’m very fortunate. My children like those fancy BRANDS but they’re pretty practical, too. 💜 LOVE your reactions!

BTS can never make a song that's not meaningful at all! It's also very important for them to educate the youngsters, esp the student ARMY's. How they made the music video to this was also a lot of fun. It was only them who did the video themselves. Each of them had a role. It was Jin who did the choreography which is just hilarious! I enjoyed these kinds of reactions from you, John! Thanks for this :)
@pyejammiesfanfic6402 жыл бұрын
I love this song. It has such a strong beat and it’s one of their songs with deep meanings. I’ve never been one to buy particular brands for the name. I feel very sad that kids these days feel so pressured to fit in. It’s great that BTS have highlighted this. Yes, they are pretty bad at lip synching but it’s particularly bad in the mv because they filmed it themselves. As they sing live their bad lip synching doesn’t matter. I’m sure David bought the jacket himself, LOL. Thank you for another great reaction. Damn, missed that Easter egg again. I promise I got to the end though. Don’t forget to watch a live performance of this. Jin rocks it.

My Brother was a spine breaker to my parents. But I saw how hard they worked and never asked for anything. I did get a very small allowance for doing chores. I received 1 dollar for a full day of chores. I saved my money and when I had enough to buy the item I wanted then I would ask for a ride to the shop to buy it. Once I got my first real paying job that paid minimum wage of $5.25 per hour I refused any money my parents offered. I wanted to show I was just as hardworking as they were. I would save for everything I purchased and if I didn’t have the money I kept saving until I did. I bought my own clothes, shoes, jackets, etc. I helped pay for food even $50 a month rent. Which they had put in savings and gave back to me when I turned 21. I even paid for college on my own. I worked several jobs to pay for it all. My brother on the other hand was just the opposite. I won’t go into it all I can do is shake my head and wonder how we could be so different. Good thing I learned this lesson because both my parents pass when I was in my early 20s. Pink haired Jimin ☺️

My father is really strict, even he is not a military man but he is so strict n discipline like military man lol... so he only buy what we need, not what we want. Even he can afford to buy what we want, but he dont let us get it easily. There is 2 way if we want buy something that feel expensive for us as kid at that time. First, we must have a good grade/score for our annual school report card (so, he only buy whatever we want only one time each year, depend on our score on school report card or we get nothing). Second way, saving our pocket money to buy what we want. The things that he willing to spend extra money only for food and school supplies. Outside those two, wait until u get school report card with good score or save ur own pocket money 😆

I don’t own a North face jacket lol. The thing to learn from this is not only kids in school are already pressured to study/do well in competition with other students (in Korean society at the time), but they have to deal with class. Wearing (or not wearing) these jackets and the type of brand, can show others what class level you fall into and so you can imagine embarrassment some may feel for looking poor even they wear same uniforms, the type of padding jackets lets them show off. But I think BTS is talking about those who plead/beg their parents to provide such expensive jacket knowing parents would be breaking their spine to get this. Should already tell you that these kids are not from wealthy parents or in a higher class who can actually afford them.
@shelby10532 жыл бұрын
I can say I 100% do not have a North Face padded jacket. I live in Lousiana where we only have one temperature and that's HOT. My small town is huge in rodeo tho and there was definitely a class difference. You knew someone was rich when they had the trailer with the living quarters and a.c. or your saddle/tack was custom. Even the brand of clothes was an indicator. We were definitely not rich. Most of my stuff was 2nd hand. The 1 thing I begged for was a expensive belt. For barrel racers, having a flashy belt was everything. They ended up getting me a $200 rhinestone belt for Christmas. Almost 10 years later and I still have it lmao.

Padded jacket never were like big thing in my country even tho winters are cold like - 10 to - 15°C. Teens wear more of it or if you go to mountains you get something like this, or for skiing, now last few years it is more popular but still nothing to do with brand, more like fashion choice, bc it become more popular with designer brands.

So even though I am 26 years old and have been buying my own stuff for years, I don’t have one of those jackets (I am a registered nurse, and we aren’t paid brilliantly here, so I don’t have loads of fancy stuff anyway 😂) My folks didn’t have a lot of money, I worked through high school, got a scholarship to university and worked through that too so I finished with no debt and didn’t cost my family anything either…it did me no harm 🤷♂️ 💜💜

@@JohnReavesLive I am a midwife, mostly labour ward (most of our deliveries are done by midwives in our government hospitals and clinics), but also NICU. Shoutout to your wife - what’s her speciality?

Way back in the day I did have a North Face. Totally, understand the balance of trying to get kids things. We do chores in this house to earn stuff. The video is hilarious...hope you found the subtitled one

@@JohnReavesLive I'm good. I have adhd & insomnia & when it runs together sometimes sleep is hard to get but I'm used to it. It's how I've been able to absorb so much BTS content since becoming ARMY in Feb of 2021.

The funnier their songs sound, the deeper and more political the meaning. Like Baepsae, Ddaeng, Spine Breaker, and Go Go. My favorite is Go Go because I myself am a slave to the issue they raised there. it hit me hard.

Never had one of those jackets, actually, but I never really bought any big brands or whatever, first I never understood the point of spending hundred or thousand of euros for clothes, like why ? Maybe, that's because I never really been on the rich side but still, and I would not have bothered my mom, alone with her 3 kids for these kind of things, she was already doing the maximum to provide us everything she could, and for example being able to enjoy a hobby (sport, art...) was more interesting for me than trying to look exactly like every other teenager around me x) I love that song, it's just catchy af, I like the way they used thir voices and stayed in a lower range, and yes yes to the meaning of course. By the way the MV is really funny, you're gonna enjoy it :D Have a wonderful day :D

Never owned a North Face jacket in my life and never bought one for my kids either (and we're Canadian). We had other priorities in our house such as every video game console ever made. We (me and my children) knew that some sacrifices had to be made and I would never buy them as soon as they came out (I would always wait about 6 months to a year for the price to come down). But something like this benefited all of us because we all liked gaming and it is something we could do together (RIP Nintendo controllers - Mario Party) as opposed to specialized clothing which is overpriced and goes out of style quickly.
