I was at Legend MM and I don't think anyone was prepared for how unique Momometal's interpretation of Headbanger would be. It was an amazing show, and Momobanger was the absolute highlight. It's Babymetal tradition that when one of the girls has a major birthday, they do a concert to celebrate the occasion and the one who's birthday it is takes over the lead vocal on Headbangerrr!!! Su-metal has performed it on several occasions including for her 16th Birthday at Legend 1997 (2013) and her 20th birthday at Legend S (2017). Moametal performed for her 15th birthday in Koln, Germany (2014) and at Apocrypha M in Tokyo (2014), and for her 20th birthday at Legend M (2019). Yui performed it for her 15th birthday in Paris (2014) and at Apocrypha Y in Tokyo (2014). Unfortunately, there is no footage of Moa and Yui's 15th birthday performances except for some fancam video of Yui's performance in Paris. Headbanger is a coming-of-age song. It tells the story of a young girl sneaking out of home on her birthday to go to her first metal show. It is about her awareness that she is leaving childhood behind and entering the world of adulthood, so she is choosing to mark this moment of transition by making a night of memories that will stay with her for the rest of her life. The original lyrics nominate the girls age as 15, but they have changed the lyrics to 20 for the performances they did for their later birthdays (20 is the age of legal adulthood in Japan). On this occasion, because the performance on was march 2nd, it was the last day that Momo was still 20 before she turned 21 the next day (hence the 20 Night and 21 Night names for the two nights of the show).

On the second night she came down again on the little stage and sang the intro for meta taro. At the end of the concert Su metal wished her happy birthday and Moa blew kisses to momo across the stage. A concert to remember.

Some new news outside of their recent performance of Eternal flames with Eric Martin of Mr. BIG. They also have a camo in a German movie called Heaver trip. In addition to that the worldwide release of Legend 43 The Movie. Which covers their 2023-2024 world tour. Looks f*** epic as i wound expect. So definitely we will get our Babymetal fix to finish out the year! I guess this was the suprise Moa was talking about eariler. 🤘🦊🔥

Thanks again from Japan 有難う 💛。 Juxtaposition of brutal growl and overly cutesy (intentionally anime-like) voice by Momometal. New ammunition of BABYMETAL. Momoko cannon loaded with sheer dark explosives and a warhead made of shiny and bubbly metal. I witnessed this performance and got crushed into pieces, smilingly of course, at the venue and was also honored to have a chance to celebrate Momoko's last day of her 20 years of age.

⚡ 🍑 💕 / 🤘 I see your chat was giving you some info that was almost, but not quite correct. : ) The significant birthdays for the BABYMETAL members are the 15th and the 20th. 15 is the age of the girl in the 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' song. Yui and Moa took the lead to celebrate their 15th birthdays during concerts in Paris, France (Yui) and in Cologne, Germany (Moa). But they also each took the lead again, when they got back to Japan. Yui at APOCRYPHA - Y on July 21st, 2014, and Moa at APOCRYPHA - M later that same day. Momoko's version of 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' did not actually celebrate her birthday. The traditional coming of age in Japan is when you turn 20. Momoko was still an avenger at that point. She took the lead at LEGEND MM during her last night as a 20 year old. The next night, to celebrate her 21st birthday, she took the lead again during the beginning of 'Meta Taro'.
