The 1954 designed Frog Zephyr is a 33” span free flight model for 0.5 ccs diesel engine. Scaled up to 66” span for electric motor and 3 channel R/C. Power train is an Emax BL2215/20 , ESC 25 A and a 3S 2200 lipo battery, giving approx 200 W. Propeller is a wooden Master Airscrew 10 x 6. Covered in laminating film with white polyester faux silk doped over the film. One wing has modelspan tissue doped on for trial. The white silk is much more attractive. Wing is in 2 pieces with carbon rod joiners. Finished weight came out at 36 ozs but needed 4 ozs lead in the nose to get CG forward from the 50% freeflight CG. Wing loading approx 9 oz / sqft. so should float once the kinks are taken out.
