Would you smile in a test shoot?
@JohnSansomPhoto4 жыл бұрын
Hi Katie! Thanks for your comment. Me? Probably not because I'll have my concentration face on most of the time :-) All joking aside, whether it's smiling, laughing, crying, anger, joy or any emotion, what I believe matters most is that it feels natural and authentic for your shoot and subject. The atmosphere that you create with your team and model plays a role in the mood you create on set for working with them. When a smile is spontanous and happens naturally, its a wonderul moment. Here's a beauty photograph that I just love and it all happened very organically: www.johnsansomphoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/JohnSansom_Leta_11309.jpg I hope this helps!

@@JohnSansomPhoto Thank you, just one more thing. Would I move from pose to pose immediately or would I pause in one pose before moving into the next or would I wait to get told what pose I have to be in next xx
@JohnSansomPhoto4 жыл бұрын
@@Bluebellcooke As with most things in life, it depends. An experienced model will often change pose after each shot (listen for the camera shutter click or the flash ready sound, as a their prompt). Every photographer is different in their approach, just like each subject/model is a unique individual. If you are a new model the photographer should provide you with a lot of direction, support and guidance. If everyone on the team is new and just starting out, take the lead and start a conversation before you begin about what everyone is expecting. Communication is key to a succesful shoot. It's a team effort!

@@Bluebellcooke You're welcome. That's wonderful news, I hope it goes well for you. Please remember to follow Social Distancing rules for everyones safety! Specifically, if the photographer needs to break the 2 meter limit they should wear a mask. Also, no hair stylist, makeup artist or fashion stylist, should come anywhere near you without wearing mask and gloves. (It might be a good idea to take some disposable masks along with you, just in case.) If your photographer is not familiar with the current shoot guidelines in response to Coronavirus, point them to Association of Photographers (AOP) website where there are comprehensive guidlines available freely for reference - www.the-aop.org/coronavirus-guidance Stay safe, have fun and good luck!
