The amount of abundant, useable kinetic energy, employed in driving the machines of civilization, is directly proportional to the wealth and standard of living of that civilization. Western Civilization is being targeted for debilitation, and eventually elimination. Restriction of energy availability is part of the plan. Perhaps one of the unspoken reasons that governments want to get rid of fossil fuel is the freedom and self-reliance that fossil fuel gives so many ordinary people.

In some ways, yes, but if you have a car that is charged with electricity that you get mainly from solar panels on your own roof, you cut the government out of the fuel entirely. I graduated from college in 73 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. In 74, after witnessing the USA's dependence on other countries and their political whims, I asked myself what could I do to help the USA. I spent the next 41 years of my career as a Petroleum Engineer. Reliance on 'renewable' energy sources is a dream. People are concerned about the environment, and in seeking alternate energy sources they are 'driving off a cliff'.

The funny thing is that they're going to destroy the environment which will impact the climate if these "alternative sources" are allowed to go unchecked. Each type of energy they suggest has a much more direct impact on the environment, but they only measure it by the carbon footprint which is how they're able to claim these are "clean" energy sources.

Thank you Mr. Mooney for your work and statements. No one should be climate obsessed when they can't do simple math. It takes 54 metric tons of earth to be moved , hauled and processed to make a one ton lithium battery. No wind turbine, solar panel or battery has a shelf life of greater than twenty years at the extreme end and ten years for most of these products. The combustion engine in my car is more than 22 years old and can easily take on another 100,000 miles. For the climate warrior, where will you dump the mega tons of toxic waste that will be used panels, turbines and batteries? Mining will have to be accelerated more than 1,000% to reach these ridiculous climate goals, yet the environmentalists prohibit mining. They are destroying our economy for a fairy tale.

As a utility worker for decades, it is clear that most people don’t understand the energy business, and they don’t realize how important low cost electricity and gasoline are to the economy. Since about the 1980’s, the public have been propagandized to think free bubble up and rainbow stew are their “right”, and are just around the corner. 🙄 They have no idea how much thoughtful planning and hard work have gone into the electricity and gasoline distribution systems, upon which we all now rely. In fact we are now being led scurrying down a road to idiocy.

It is a scientific fact, all things being equal, combustion engines are more powerful and efficient than electric motors. Thus the reason cars, tools, utilities and other mass energies initially were and are run on combustion engines. There is nothing new under the sun... even the sun itself. Solar, wind, geothermal are not meant for global energy supply. Even for small applications when considering the costs of raw material components of batteries, solar panels and other technologies it is untenable in the environmental, financial, social, etc. sense. One 60 watt incandescent bulb in a small greenhouse or well house can keep things from freezing up for several degrees below 32.. no LED can do that. Put fluorescent bulbs in the mix and being that they run on cycles.. spinning power tools are dangerous with those. The prediction was overpopulation was going to cause mass starvation around the world. It didn't happen, and the reason is modern farming techniques and fossil fuels. Third-world nations now have tractors and farm equipment run by diesel and gas. The yields from farming have gone up to where people have enough to eat. I was trained in the Naval Nuclear Power Program to operate nuclear reactors for two years and spent four years operating one on a US fast attack submarine. Three Mile Island ended my planned career path in nuclear power electric generation. I then spent 31 years in fossil fuel electrical power generation. We have four options. One is to go back to pre-1860 and burn oil from whale blubber for lighting and wood for heat and cooking. The second is to go to pre-1700 and use wood and coal as a fuel. The third is to start building nuclear power plants again. Fourth is to continue using fossil fuels. The belief that wind turbines, solar panels and batteries is going to power the world is a myth. So there is definitely a moral case for fossil fuels.

There was more than enough CO2 prior to industrialization (about 280ppm) for photosynthesis to occur; not to mention there's a massive seasonal flux in CO2 which dwarfs the annual human contribution (although our excess output is certainly raising CO2 levels in the atmosphere). The original saying came from this: In January, 1869, General Sheridan held a conference with 50 Indian chiefs at Fort Cobb in the so-called Indian Territory (later part of Oklahoma). At that time, Sheridan, who had gained recognition as a Union officer in the Civil War, was in charge of the Dept. of the Missouri. One of his duties was to oversee the Indian Territory, making sure that the Indians remained on their reservations and did not harass the white settlers. When Comanche chief Toch-a-way was introduced to Sheridan at the conference, the Indian said, "Me Toch-a-way, me good Indian." Sheridan reportedly smirked and replied, "The only good Indians I ever saw were dead." Later on, the remark became "The only good Indian is a dead Indian." 1975 - 1981 by David Wallechinsky & Irving Wallace

too bad he lies, so that makes prageru not credible source, either, since they don't say that this guy lies. just 1 example: 34:17 its false claim nobody hasn't done it anywhere ever, costa rica has whopping 98% of its electricity from renewable sources. Costa Rica uses a combination of hydro, geothermal, wind, biomass and solar power. In some years they have even been able to export the excess power that they have generated. scotland has 97%. geothermal provides almost 100% iceland needs. china´s coal plants were mentioned many times. but china is also the world leader in wind and solar energy production, they aim to generate a third of their energy from renewable sources by 2025. china produces almost 2x total amount energy than usa, and still, 24% of their power comes from renewables. he says cant work on cold, but 7th biggest renewable producer is russia. and its colder in russia than texas. how does he explain that? texas guys could've made it winter proof, but they chose to skimp out. norway has cold winters, too, and their renewables is 97.2%. renewables is a pretty huge geopolitical thing, wouldn't have any more wars based on oil in middle-east, middle-east in general could be forgotten, or big oil producers in general, like russia. source: wiki on " List of countries by renewable electricity production " 33:57 - 34:06 this guy says it would cost multiple world GDP to turn usa into renewables, elon musk says its few trillions. (world GDP is $94 Trillion, so this guy says it would cost 300 trillion. so this guy claims 100 times more than elon claims. also its getting cheaper, more efficient, fundamentally better materials are in development, not more expensive.)

There is a massive problem with RFK's "We'd all be driving electric cars" statement. 1. Electric cars are expensive because they use a lot of rare earth minerals which comes from all over the world. The cost of creating an electric car is far greater than an ICE car because ICE can be created from common materials and electric cars cannot. 2. Over the lifetime of usage, the ICE car becomes far more economical in the long run because parts can be replaced cheaply. Even the engine. Electric cars have components that are not easy or cheap to replace. Specifically the battery and the motors. 3. Electric cars are a hazard to mankind. When an ICE car is in a blizzard, it still retains the fuel. When an electric car is in the blizzard, the cold bleeds away the power. 4. Electric cars spontaneously combust. Faults in batteries cause them to burn. An ICE car will burn at about 500 to 1000 degrees C. An electric car burns at between 3000 to 5000 degrees C. Firefighters cannot easily put out such fires and are supposed to isolate the burning vehicle. Except that cannot be done in a car transporting ship, a multi-storey car park, a train or a tunnel. The first time that there is a fire on a car transporting train going through a tunnel it could kill hundreds of people. The cost of a fire in a multi-storey car park in a shopping mall could be in the Billions. 5. The energy for electric cars has to be generated by burning fossil fuels or using nuclear power. Cars are mostly used at day which means they need to be charged at night and whilst the load on the electric grid is lower at night, the fact remains that the grid may not be able to recharge all the cars if the load is high or there is a natural disaster that brings down the electric grid. All the ICE cars would still function after a tornado or hurricane brought down the electric grid, but electric cars would be useless as soon as they lose their charge.

fossil fuels are morally neutral. Democracy is morally good. Oil lobbies exert a disproportionate influence compared to public opinion on oil policies. So do Green Energy lobbies, but the Oil industry has 4 times the budget and zero science on its side. The anti-democratic nature of the energy industry is morally bad. The people should be the ones to decide whether or not we continue producing oil at this rate, and our access to information should not be muddied by corporate thinktanks with pretend experts and connections to the media who make this about democrat vs republican. Anthropogenic climate change is real, and it is too fast for a healthy climate. The medieval warming period was nothing as drastic or as warm as we are now. All arguments, including the ones that the mainstream supposedly doesn't want you to know, are just as junk as the alarmist headlines saying we are headed for an ice age. The scientific majority-turned consensus has been saying the same thing for 60 years, and the models have come true. Climategate was a hoax. "We need more evidence" is a hoax. The reefs are dying, the ocean is acidifying, the storms are intensifying, the hottest days are getting hotter, and deniers want you to be so frightened of the supposed hubris that we are capable of changing the climate, even though our purposeful manipulation of climate and weather has been proven. If we can't make earth hospitable, then we surely cannot make mars hospitable. What is the point of society? to consume and produce? For what? For whom? For the people who can afford to live independently of hurricanes and floods and drought? That is a very lucky few. There have been citizens of the US who have had to move from their islands, on the people's dime, because the islands are sinking. The oceans are rising. The oil companies know. their own data shows that we are causing this, and they couldn't hide it. If Anthropogenic climate change was a hoax, it would have been leaked by now. The insurance companies know. The Dept of Defence knows. Every scientist knows. The laws of physics and thermodynamics know. There's reason why the only thing deniers do these days is make fun of Greta Thunberg. You've got no facts, no charts, no graphs, no experts, nothing. You find it suspicious how certain things are, because it challenges the religious certainty you have that the world is just and the earth will right itself or else we will all be swept away because we deserve it. Stop being scared, stop falling for the nihilism of mainstream media. They just want your attention and your money, and their biggest sponsors are big oil. Do something with your lives other than listen to people say the same things over and over again. If you fear change so much, then do something about the biggest change of all, climate change.

In Ontario Canada, the government forced a very expensive transition to windpower. The result was very expensive electricity. And that led to energy intensive manufacturers (high paying jobs) to RUN to the US, and shut down operations in Ontario. . I live in a northern city where we experience several days each winter with temperatures of -30. Decades ago, it used to be several days of -40. Now -40 is extremely rare. Summer and daytime temperatures are about the same as ever. I call that climate improvement.

A similar situation happened here in Toronto, Canada last year. Most major stores have their telecommunications with one provider. The main plant had a power outage that brought down the entire network, therefore no POS systems worked, enabling stores to only allow cash transactions. Since 90% of customers only use debit or credit, they were stuck paying for purchases, and ATMs were unavailable since they were handled by the same telecommunications company.

@@HealthyDisrespectforAuthority Ha! True. Unfortunately, I'm a dyscalculic, myself. Has nothing to do with learning math, but rather, is related to dyslexia. In fact, dyscalucia is sometimes referred to as "dyslexia with numbers." I'm a "high-functioning" dyscalculic, meaning I can do some basic arithmetic in my head, but it's very limited, very slow and prone to error, hence my use of calculators. But, with that tool and the measurement tools in Autocad, I successfully pulled off a 31 year career as an architectural/engineering draftsman/CAD tech. There are dyscalculics who are unable to read or recognize numerals, have no ability to read a clock and have no sense of direction. I had a little difficulty learning to tell time, as a child, but I overcame most of that. Dyscalculia wasn't even named yet when I was a boy in the fifties and sixties. In fact, the term "learning disorder" didn't exist, either. I didn't discover I had the disorder until I was 43. It wasn't until I was 56 that scientists isolated the cause to a congenital defect in the left parietal lobe of the brain, which occurs in-utero. Many people who have never experienced dyscalculia believe it can be overcome by learning, but this isn't true. A dyscaluic has no facility for math because of an impairment in the brain, not laziness or simple ignorance. Whatever normal people "see" or experience in their mind when they do math, I don't have that. It's simply not there for me, and never has been.

Believe me, I wish I had possessed the same facility for math that my civil engineer father had. I could have followed in his footsteps, or maybe become an architect. Instead, I wound up with a degree in graphic design and, with that and about $6, I can get a latte at any Starbucks.

Ending fossil fuel and the push for that causes many problems. Think about this: Equipment on the farm, runs of the fuel. The trucks that transport for example the grain, then the trucks from the refinery making flour out of the grain, then from there to baking factories transport there with trucks. Then from there to grocery warehouses and then from there to grocery stores. So the transportation industry is essential just from farm to a finish bread on the grocery shelves you have 5 instances of trucking in between. Hence why 10 cents more fuel cost is actually 50 cents more fuel cost in reality. Renewables is 4-5% of the total energy output right now. How can you remove fossil fuel, including coal and it powers 50% of all the energy (electricity). They won't allow Nuclear which takes 5-10 years to build a new plant. We're heading towards disaster because of an arbitrary date of 2030 and 2035 for gas cars.
