No need for any fan of Texas to rag on Johntay. He helped recruit many of the stars at Texas and he was by all accounts a good kid who didn’t cause trouble. Good luck kid to wherever you land. I hope he ends up somewhere like SMU or Miami where he can ball out

Agree. Kind of disgusting comments calling him a quitter. A lot of judgemental comments (not by OTF) on a situation they know nothing about. He did not see a clear path to the field and he wants to play. Not that complicated.

Culturally not fitting. Obviously speculation, but had heard he started skipping meetings and began isolating himself from the team. People are overfeeding into the drop against Miss St as the biggest factor in his reduced snaps. This is way more to do with off the field behavior. And his reaction from On3's instagram post says all that needs to be said about the situation.

Sometimes its hard for a young stud out of high school to realize when you sign at a blue blood program like Texas you are now considered a freshman exactly like in high school. Those glory days of your senior year are over and you have to reset your mind to go earn it again. He couldn't make the transition mentally and will have a hard time anywhere he goes. Hopefully im wrong but he seemed to act entitled without putting the work in.

I was really wrong about Cook. I thought he'd be really good. But he quit. Probably allowed his "circle" to influence him. Winners never quit and quitters never win. I wish him well, but to DO well, he'll have to rid himself of his "circle."
@DennisCoffman-dd8ok2 сағат бұрын
maybe, maybe not. I would have to look at this way. 2 years in a row that Sark brought in WRs. That's kind of a slap in the face to any recruit that's put in a few years and the fact Sark keeps saying "we need to get Cook going", etc, is just more of a disservice. So I wouldn't blame any WR for leaving if he's not being developed. I mean next year, Sark will probably bring in more people from the portal, so what's the incentive for recruits to come if all their going to get is replaced by someone out of the program? I mean if I was any kind of recruit, I'd just go play somewhere else and then xfer to a better school down the road.

All off season long, while hearing that Moore was showing up early to practices, we were reminded that Whitt and Worthy were putting their commitment on display setting the example. Moore took note and took his role seriously. By fall, the fact that I hadn’t heard that Cook was side by side Moore in getting extra work worried me seeing as though Bond and Golden were getting more acknowledgment. I’m saddened that Cook wasn’t who we he thought he was or who we hoped he could be, but that’s life and that’s college football. I wish him the best. And one more thing… it’s Moores 🌍 😎 🤘🏽
