Johor Crown Prince embarks on three-day official visit to Singapore, calls on PM Lee

Tunku Mahkota of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim commenced his official visit to the island republic on Monday (July 10) by gracing a Hi-Tea session hosted by Singapore’s Prime Minister Datuk Lee Hsien Loong and his spouse Datin Paduka Ho Ching at The Istana, Singapore.

The Johor Kingdom used to own Singapore (then Temasek). Until today, the Johor Royal Family does not need to use a passport to enter Singapore and they buy land in Singapore similar to a local Singaporean.

After years of making noise to their royal agents, they merely did a mini touch up of the many still very dilapidated royal tombs like Radin Mas at Mt Faber and nearby. Feel very sad for their ancestors and often empathise with them when passing nearby - so unfilial.

If you are so educated to write this long comment you should start thinking if these privileges are really justified in this age and era. As a selective royalist support is only given to those individuals or families which have displayed exceptional decorum, carried out their public duties excellently and really cared for the people e.g QEII, Rama IX and the Mikimotos. A Tan Sri, even Michelle Yeo gets that, would be more befitting.
