I worked at the horse and dog track (The Woodlands) In Kansas City back in 2020 and worked the Kentucky Derby race, taking bets at the ticket window where they allowed para mutual betting. OMG! From the time they opened the doors at 11:00 a.m., to the time of the actual race at 5:00 p.m., it was wall to wall people, there was so much money flowing across the ticket counters we were having a hard time keeping up with it. The bosses were coming down continuously removing money from our windows and taking it upstairs to count, and I'm just glad l didn't have to that day. Old farmers were coming in with their overalls on, pulling out thousands of dollars and betting five grand on a horse to win! It was a shit show for sure!!!! I didn't work a second one, that's for sure!! I'm glad you had a great time down there at the derby! I've always liked watching it from the comfort of my own home! 😎

Hi Jason! I'm always betting some quick pick bets because even on dollar bets if you had five out of five I've seen it pay $150 thousand for $1. Something to keep in mind. I love the races ; thoroughbreds and sulky too . Although I'm not much of a gambler I'd risk a $2.00 on all 10 races and even though I never bet big I had a knack for choosing winners . If drove my Dad crazy that I wouldn't bet bigger than I did and he didn't agree with my method because I didn't care about the horse's records ( such as results on differnt tracks etc ). I made my choice on the appearance of the horse and the most I lost as often as I went with my Dad was 6 out of 10 races . A few times my Dad won a lot of money with my choice in the Trifecta even though he felt it wasn't possible .
