Join the National Archives for a Juneteenth Celebration with Playback Theater on June 18, 2024

In celebration of #Juneteenth and the viewing of the Emancipation Proclamation and General Order No. 3 in the National Archives Rotunda, join us for an interactive performance featuring Playback Theater/Verbal Gymnastics. This event will take place on Tuesday, June 18 at 3 p.m. ET at the National Archives Building in Washington, DC.
In this video, John A. Johnson of Verbal Gymnastics invites you to share your experiences and watch as a group of performers, actors, and musicians play back people's stories and feelings around Juneteenth. The audience holds the pen and the personal experiences of participants will come together to form one collective, unique reflection on Juneteenth and freedom. You won’t want to miss this!
