Ok but I love how Paul only has two black dots as eyes, painting him as a "background character", so he doesn't neet to be more detailed, showing how much he just seems like a "basic dude" instead of looking like the "protagonist ok a musical", brilliant

I love, love, LOVE how you showed glimpses of Alice being attacked (btw, the blue on the chalkboard spelling "Choir Class Signups"? GENIUS) and getting ready to call her dad, followed by Charlotte and Sam ignoring Bill in favor of attacking Ted, supporting my personal theory that they spared Bill in order for him to try and save his daughter, only to realize he was too late, because that would be more dramatic, and the aliens work on rule of drama

Ya!! Plus Ted had a more emotional connection towards Charlotte and Sam considering the affair and all. It adds even more layers to the drama. Like Ted had just broken things off with Charlotte after the two vented out their feelings. And now he's being chased around by the woman who'd always pick her toxic cheating husband over him :) Really shoving in his face that Ted will die alone oof

Such a fantastic understanding of the apotheosis themes with how Charlotte and Sam are working in perfect tandem and harmony, like Charlotte wanted, but only when the blue goo is in charge. It gave them what they wanted, didn't it? Plus, those cuts to Alice were nicely chilling. Great work!

Bro, this is so good, I don’t even know where to start! First of all, this is the first animatic I’ve seen of this song, and you being the first to make one is amazing on its own! Second, the fact that Charlotte and Sam move in unison for so much of it! Even when they’re not doing perfect copies of each other’s movements, it’s clear that they’re part of a hive mind! Third, the shots of Alice!!!!! They broke my heart! I didn’t see who she was trying to call, but I’m gonna pretend it’s Bill, just so I can hurt myself more :) Man, this is just a perfect animatic, and I can’t believe I didn’t see it sooner. Hey, thanks for such a thorough comment! I appreciate people giving feedback. First off, yeah, Alice is meant to be about to call Bill, since she does so after the song ends. I made her hesitate/break down a bit since it’s not immediately after though. Second, I know there’s at least another animatic for this song. I haven’t looked at it much since I didn’t want it to influence this one but I wasn’t the first, haha. Lastly, Charlotte and Sam really got their relationship “fixed” through getting inducted into the hive mind. I say this with a huge grain of salt, of course, since they were very dysfunctional before AND they had to die and be rebuilt from scratch to drop their flaws, but when they’re both taken over, they’re the most in tune with each other (pun intended). I wanted to emphasize that a lot by having them move together. Also Charlotte takes the lead cause she’s my fave and she deserves it

I just recently found TGWDLM and fell in love with it. So I’ve been going around watching animatics, you know as you do. Yours so far is one of my favorites, so much great detail. I know part of its charm (at least to me) is its simple set/ mostly imaginary props but your animatic really makes me want to see this musical with a bigger budget, set, and more props. But obviously keep the “should i bring this chair” moment.
