very cool video. have you thought about doing a short on each of the joints? the algorithm really seems to like that sorta thing when done well. really liking your channel. only recently found it. i really like dowel joinery for strength and plate joinery for quick alignment. i make my own plates that go longrain rather than bias grain for a little extra strength on miters and such. basically in internal splines. i have never gotten the hang of hound's tooth dovetails. i never get they as clean as i want them. i was always taught the slip joint as the bridle joint. it wasn't until i started looking into older books that i saw the term slip joint. i tested a bunch of joints in batches of 20 and the double bridle joint was only stronger if the joint was more than 2" thick, or if i used hide glue or another protein based adhesive. on any bridle joint i tested less than 2" thick and using pva or epoxy, the single bridle was the strongest. grain runout could also be a determining factor in any joint i tested. i am thinking about rerunning those tests with bamboo as a wood analog because it is very consistent and straight grained, but the additional strength and flexibility are a challenge. i got all of my original wood samples from a cabinet shop's offcuts for free. now they sell them in boxes on facebook so i don't have tons of free 6"-18" straight grained offcuts to work from.
