Christopher Gronhagen I think there’s biological sex sure but gender as well as self perception in general comes from the soul or heart rather than the physical body. That’s not to say our physical body doesn’t influence how we see ourselves at all. In fact it can have a huge influence, but I still think the essence of who we are is somewhere deeper so becoming an android wouldn’t change your gender or many aspects of your true self. And no, just because your body is synthetic does not make you a thing. I would be super opposed to android labor if I lived in this future.

@@coyotemoondolls2197 I love and share most of these thoughts. I believe the act of conscious thought and our memories form our life experiences, is what makes us... us. Even if we are fully mechanical we still aren't "things". I pose another query for you and anyone else that wishes to join the conversation. It's consists of two parts. *1) Following your logic from before; somehow your consciousness is put into a new body but you still have all your memories. Are you still you? *2) What if you find out you're consciousness is just a clone of the real you, and all your memories belong to the original you, and you were just created minuets ago. Are you still the you even if you meet the original you? Sorry if that got a little confusing.

I'm not sure we as a culture are advanced or mature enough to answer that question. We've only in this new millennium really come to terms with the fact that gender isn't as black and white as we thought. It's my opinion that gender and culture are too irrevocably linked to ever be sure of anything. We know for a fact that testosterone leads to aggression, anger, and sex drive. Whereas estrogen causes emotionality and softening of features and skin. But I doubt people would love having their gender identity defined by their levels of hormones. Especially since that can be changed by environment and drugs. Nor would people love to be restricted and judged by the shape of their genitalia. Even if it's as simple as "I'm not an angry person just because I have a penis." Etc. I personally support the idea of breaking down all concepts of gender and race. I actually disagree with people being non-binary for the sole reason that it assumes that being a man or a woman has inherent properties. It's the gender equivalent of being a hipster. But conceptually I completely agree with being non-binary, or "a thing," because we are all a collection of attributes that some culture somewhere would call "male" or "female."

First, I love your videos, Jen. You put a lot of work into them and I really appreciate that. I really like having a series of them that tells an ongoing story. I am going to be a voice of dissent, though, sorry, and say that I don't enjoy the plastic sounds and they were too loud at times so I couldn't hear you over them. :/ I tend not to like crinkle sounds in my ASMR, and normally I wouldn't say anything because obviously other people do, and I'm not going to expect you to stop using them on my account. But when they overpower your voice, then I wanted to say something, because for me your voice is the most important part - both for storytelling and ASMR purposes. I just wanted to give you that technical feedback, if you will. But again, generally I love your videos! You're awesome!
