Jose i really Like your tips but I’m already a Little Ahead on My Japanese But mostly I Possibly get most of My Lively goals done if i get station in Japan 🇯🇵 Just Recently i pass my Asvab and Confirmation test so i Hope i do get orders to Japan when i do get to that point. 日本🇯🇵 is the Home i do want to stay in for my whole life 💚

Hey Jose, I went to Yokosuka Fleet Activities for 3 different times to enlist in the Navy. I just got my contract. I’m shipping out on 04/22/2019. Your videos really helped me out in making this very big decision in my life. Thanks man

Thank you so much for the tips!!! Going to be stationed in Yokosuka, Japan shore duty soon after i finish my schooling. Really sad for the different time zones as I am in a relationship already and it will be extremely hard to stay in touch especially since they are also in the military. Praying only for the best. Maybe you wanted to add Atsugi and Misawa at the tip 11? Yes, Misawa is an AF base but there are some Navy sailors there too.

This video was super informative thank you! I’m thinking of going back as an officer (Supply corps, got out as an HM3). Did you stay in the navy? It sounds like you really enjoyed it, and enjoyed Japan.

I was there in Yokosuka on and off for 2-1/2 years. Most the time we were in Vietnam in the 60's as the War was happening. But when we did come back for Ship repairs I loved it there. I had no problem as most everywhere we went people spoke English. I am surprised that you say in this day and age that you had problems with people not speaking English.

brining this video back, lol im heading to yokosuka for my last 2 years of my contract and im so happy to experience japan finally, but as far as the language is there any places i can learn it fairly quickly? since im going over there around christmas time 2022

AO, Aircraft Ordinance, I was your counterpart in the USAF back in the 80's. I worked on munitions on F-15s back in the 80-90s. We call ourselves 'weapons troops' Having worked with the Navy, I think you call yourselves 'Ordies'? Thanks for all that you do.

Let’s say your on base but your a minute late what happens? Also what if you call your person in charge and tell them hey I’m running late what happens?

how were you able to travel to other eastern asian countries? did you go by yourself on off days? does military allow you to do vacation on your own time in different country

is it true you have to be stationed stateside first enlistment? I'm talking with a Navy recruiter and he said I am not able to be stationed overseas first enlistment..I've had family stationed in Yokosuka and really want to be there as an HM or MA. Thanks Jose

Waivers in regards to what? I think they've only mentioned medical waivers for surgeries I've had. I guess I'll be able to request where I'd be stationed at MEPS? Thanks Jose

I am currently an army soldier considering switching to navy just to go to japan 😂😂 Hopefully I get it (preferably sasebo) Also how hard is it to get that duty station? Is it like job specific or preference?

Not hard at all, they primarily send single, younger guys overseas because it’s easier, but certain rates like spact, you will most likely be overseas, maybe even Japan and if you’re former military, may get more of a say so

I asked to be sent overseas but it was basically where they needed me and I had no say. Granted I did want Japan, so I got lucky.

hey i got AO . my first sea tour is 53 months. does that mean i’m out on sea for a straight 4 years ?

Darius it depends on the duty station your stationed at. Some ships go out onto deployment for a longer period of time and some ships stay in their homeport for their maintenance cycle. Really depends on the ships mission. Just be prepared to go out on deployment for 6-10 months. Its not straight 4 years you get breaks in between for the ship to get worked on for the next deployment cycle.

Only in Yokosuka at some restaurants you can use USD. If not on base you can get YEN at an ATM.

Is there a much more direct way of texting besides Instagram? I have a whole lot of questions because I’m about to make that greatest decision in my life and that is possibly joining I have thought about being a helmsman but I heard that they do not leave ship when docked etc etc and I wish to be stationed in japan and I have a whole lot of dire thoughts and questions I need answering too and no navy recruiter will tell me straight up they keep circling around my questions. PLEASE help me when you get chance thank you

Yes you can take classes during your enlistment or you can get out after your first enlistment and go to College and get your bachelors. That’s what I’m doing now.

Not the case at all. I love my family and it was difficult but seriously you have to get out of your comfort zone to know who you really are. I've been places and done things that no adult in their early 20's will probably ever do. Now that I'm out of the Navy and back with my family I can tell them about all my experiences and they are proud 😁
