I love how internet sensations and memes like Jake Paul, Cash Me Ousside girl, and the majority of vine stars are known for their tendency to become extremely arrogant, cancerous, and obnoxious when they start to do music and get famous. And then there's Joji, the guy who's Filthy Frank and Pink Guy who we've taken as a symbol of shitposting and offensive humor, who's actually a really down to earth, passionate artist with actual artistic and musical skill who puts soul and meaning into his artistry and music. It's amazing.

In Tongues was really derivative of other artists and was just playing on trends. The vocals are mediocre, the lyricism is cookie cutter and the instrumentals are uninspired and bland. I don't think its fair to criticize Pink Season for having shit sound quality. It is not an album written to make you think or make you vibe or whatever. Saying that it has shit sound quality would be like saying EDM has poor lyricism, no, shit its not the fucking point of the music. Pink Season's appeal is the jokes. Its a comedy album and is meant to make people laugh. It's not high class humor, but I guess people 21 and over aren't allowed to enjoy jokes made at the expense of others.

Very late response lol, but from my point of view: He probably rapped too during his youngster years and it's like a spontaneous kind of thing in which you go lyrical in some cases like you pulled off bars or a very catchy line and it just progressed into another piece with his friends. It appears to be a carry over from his old times to his Filthy Frank persona. His experience is sufficient enough to just explore further with career paths. Now that he jumped on-board as Joji, he is being modest. That's actually correct, but then he has to step up eventually up until he's condident about his abilities as a person. Besides, it's almost the video's first year and we can pretty much see how Joji's development shaped him. To wrap this all off, his transition is worth it. Defo worth it.

Max Becker I support Joji’s music career (just as much as I did with his Filthy Frank career) just because I didn’t have that in my statement doesn’t mean I don’t have respect for his music career. I don’t have to let frank go at all and just because I make a reference to his past content, doesn’t mean that I’m not acknowledging or I’m undermining what he’s doing with his life now. I’ll always like Frank and I’ll always like Joji, I don’t have to choose.

@@masterson0713 no. Just fucking no. He is an individual human fuckinh being and should chase what makes HIM happy. I would jizz my pants if I got the notification that Filthy Frank uploaded a new video. That's what shaped my humor in many ways, and to this day I still love his old content. However, seeing as how he is more than just your personal entertainer and is, in fact, a person with individual thoughts and feelings and ideas. He deserves to chase happiness, chase his dreams, and do what he wants to do. If he wants to pursue Joji, then let him. It doesnt hurt you none. The world isn't static, nor does it revolve around you. People change, people adapt, people mature and grow. And that's okay! So in summary, fuck your entire fuckin life there bud

He talked about what is trending or "popping" in this interview, rap for the most part is dead what is cool though is the title of a "rapper". There are no new "real" rappers really breaking into the mainstream anymore it's all r n b hip hop with edm esk soul. hip hop is a umbrella term like rock n roll, hiphop artists can be everything from rappers like icecube to popstars like taylor swift for some of her songs. You take a look at lil peeps music and don't tell anyone that he's marketing himself as a rapper and then ask the listener what they think the genre is. When I heard lil peep's song "Awful Things" I thought it was either a song by good charlotte from 2006 or a current simple plan song or a current fallout boy song. It's just pop punk/alt marketed as rap and hip hop.

Noticed how he avoided mentioning Filthy Frank or Pink Guy by name. I think he's sort of ashamed or regretted that part of him. If only he take a step back and see the bigger picture, accept that part of his past, he's gonna learn and realize much more about himself, thus being free from the unreasonable regret. Anyway, I have only respect for you Joji
@BumbleBee-zm6us4 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's about regret the guy is trying to make a career in music he just wants ppl to focus on what he is creating now rather than always bringing his old work when... it's not about that uk. And he really looks passionate about his music so it obviously needs to be taken srsly

His sound is more advanced because in the past all his joji releases were very sample heavy. And releasing an official EP with this much attention on the name who made it, you really need the work to be mostly if not all original. Sorta explains why the EP was very different, but glad to see his own sound really take shape!

After watching George/Joji for many years now, I think it's fair to say that seeing him happy with his new platform, his passion for music, it's really heartwarming. Yeah, he's no longer playing the edgelord we knew back in the day, but seeing him now, it seems he has really grown up, and I Guess us filthy frank fans should continue to support him

Joji, I don't know if you'll even read this, but I just wanted to say good luck man. I loved the Filthy Frank times, and as much as I would love to see them come back some day I wish you the best pursuing this new direction. Do what's best for you, regardless of what anyone else says. For what it's worth, I don't think you've ever wasted your time or energy. The Filthy Frank Show, Pink Guy's albums, and "Joji Music" have all been genius works of art as far as I'm concerned. The most important thing is that you're doing what's best for you. Ahem...since you're going in this direction, though...when you gonna come out with some musical work featuring Post Malone, b0ss?

Joji giving up comedy is like Michelangelo giving up painting. :( Of course I feel happy that he pursues what he wants to do, but it's hard to not lament the fact that he gives up a field that he's clearly a genius in.
@dideIphis4 жыл бұрын
that's actually a really good metaphor what the hell bc like. while most people love michelangelo for his paintings, he still had beautiful sculptures. i'd even argue that if it wasn't for his architectural and sculptural skills, his paintings wouldn't have been as impressive. while there's a huge demographic for joji's comedy, his new stuff is really good too, and without his skills in non-comedy, he probably wouldn't have pulled off his comedy tracks as well as he did. thank you for giving me something really cool to think about
