For those wondering what the visual is, it’s a miniature Stirling engine powering a small dynamo, hence the belt. A stirling engine is form of non polluting (most for the time) reciprocating engine that only needs a small amount of heat to work. The pictures is made to look like a Watt type steam engine, but it’s a trick.

I think it represents how people are still trying to force him to be a certain person, more like a personality.. Especially characters he used to play like ff etc. He said "I've seen the treasures in the bloom" which maybe referred to him blooming and showing his true colors/showing his passion and talent to the world . "And when they say they're satisfied they're lying" maybe means that he still thinks that fans just said that just to "support him and be viewed as real fans" which isn't actually how every fan is. There are real ones actually accepting and respecting your decision which may be hard to believe because it was something they loved so much that they didn't want to let go off but did anyways because they love him and wish the best for.
@shyhexxАй бұрын
this may be a really late reply but I appreciate your viewpoint. personally I think it's about record labels and music industry execs trying to turn him into an "icon" or "pop star" and how he doesn't want to be anything more than just a person, and how he's "just not strong enough" to fill roles that he's being pushed into by others

@@sammccadams8645 I've been a joji fan since he dropped his first stuff on soundcloud.. I'm open to his new sound but nectar felt like a lazier, more corporate, blander version of ballads (which was also unpolished). Chloe Burbank has that nostalgia factor for me, but I truly think it's some of joji's greatest work where he had great sample work and production. Ik i'm rambling lol but don't get me wrong I don't think this is a bad record. I think it's an unwhelming joji record.

This song talks about how the character is really stressed out. He hopes for a better future, so he just works like a machine to the day of his salvation (it is also kinda said in the lyrics). The vid supports my idea, since some kind of engine (sorry mechanic ppl). Also it is quite satisfying how its working syncs with the beat. When the engine stops it resembles how the person has finally reached their day of salvation, but like the engine, they have stopped (by stopped i mean burnt out and you know tired as shit)

Has no one noticed this is the same inner conflict of the MacBook in the filthy frank show? He can't feel, nor die, nor make any decisions for himself.
@inthefadeproductions3 жыл бұрын
It's about anxiety and depression and disease that comes with it - when you are making art you feel forced and being pushed around by these "invisible people" in your head, you are never truly free, you always feels like you have someone else's thoughts inside your mind. It forces you to make music that people "would" like or it also forces you to make music to break out and run away from these "people". It's really hard to find yourself and be free like you once was. That's when the drugs come in and all that stuff. It's a battle to free yourself from the invisible enemy, yet so real in your mind.

this whole song just hits so hard.. im struggling with everything right now and some of the lyrics that are more up for interpretation fit into my situation like a puzzle piece. "when they say they're satisfied, they're lying, they're lying" it feels like my parents. i know they're pretending like they dont know im failing school but im just not strong enough to keep up. its so hard to focus on my work when i cant get out of my own head and shut up the dark thoughts. its so hard to wake up when my dreams are so fantastical and when dreamland is the only place i feel loved. i haven't been embraced in so long that last night i dreamt that one of my favorite people on earth held me for what seemed like eternity...until i had to be woken up to start another shitty day at noon. mom, im sorry im just not strong enough for you.
