For those wondering what the visual is, it’s a miniature Stirling engine powering a small dynamo, hence the belt. A stirling engine is form of non polluting (most for the time) reciprocating engine that only needs a small amount of heat to work. The pictures is made to look like a Watt type steam engine, but it’s a trick.

Yeah I think people overhype is music a little to much sometimes. He's good and his progress as an artist is really inspiring... but joji still need to work on is lyrics for a majority of is songs, lacks a lot of originality and maturity for most of is songs. There's a few exeptions like Slow dancing, run and a few others. Is production was a major issue in is last LP. Nectar was is first album with great production from start to finish. It takes nothing away from the progress he's made as an artist and a person. I love joji, but people overhype is shit all the time.

This song talks about how the character is really stressed out. He hopes for a better future, so he just works like a machine to the day of his salvation (it is also kinda said in the lyrics). The vid supports my idea, since some kind of engine (sorry mechanic ppl). Also it is quite satisfying how its working syncs with the beat. When the engine stops it resembles how the person has finally reached their day of salvation, but like the engine, they have stopped (by stopped i mean burnt out and you know tired as shit)

@yamivang19054 жыл бұрын
this whole song just hits so hard.. im struggling with everything right now and some of the lyrics that are more up for interpretation fit into my situation like a puzzle piece. "when they say they're satisfied, they're lying, they're lying" it feels like my parents. i know they're pretending like they dont know im failing school but im just not strong enough to keep up. its so hard to focus on my work when i cant get out of my own head and shut up the dark thoughts. its so hard to wake up when my dreams are so fantastical and when dreamland is the only place i feel loved. i haven't been embraced in so long that last night i dreamt that one of my favorite people on earth held me for what seemed like eternity...until i had to be woken up to start another shitty day at noon. mom, im sorry im just not strong enough for you.

I found this song while i was trying to stay sober from drugs , I listen to it on repeat,it's pure explanation of how I felt before being an addict,while being an addict,while trying to stay sober ...it got me through the toughest times ..even tho I keep relapsing but for some reason this song is important to me simply cuz it just I found lyrics that had words to all the feelings I felt still feel but I couldn't find words to express them ....this song always makes my heart sink but it still relives the pain I am feeling bec it feels like someone understands me..I never knew how I much I needed someone to understand me before finding this song

It's about anxiety and depression and disease that comes with it - when you are making art you feel forced and being pushed around by these "invisible people" in your head, you are never truly free, you always feels like you have someone else's thoughts inside your mind. It forces you to make music that people "would" like or it also forces you to make music to break out and run away from these "people". It's really hard to find yourself and be free like you once was. That's when the drugs come in and all that stuff. It's a battle to free yourself from the invisible enemy, yet so real in your mind.

the meaning of the song is basically the character in the song is a person who has his whole life planned for him and it should all run smoothly but he doesnt want to be just like a robot and he wants to make his own rules and not keep up this perfect persona like how joji says "i wanna be a chevy not a sentra" he is trying to express that he wants to be different and show his true feelings

Lyrics: Speed it up, slow it down I need control, I need it now I need to live a thousand times I cannot stop, I cannot cry I will not fret, I will not die I am machine, I stay alive Sometimes I think, sometimes I think Sometimes I think, sometimes I (ooh) I've got no aim, a million rounds, is nothing real? A hundred pounds of heavy steel, it feels so loud Tied to my chest, it feels so loud I'll take a peek to across the peaks This grass is neat, I'm quite unique But I'd like to be, but I'd like to be And I hope this is the hardest part We try, we try And when they say they're satisfied They're lying, they're lying Do forgive me, I've seen the treasure's in the bloom But right now, I'm just not strong enough for you Sorry, you can see it in my retina Focus in and out, I'm doing better Artificial ghost with no perception I wanna be a chevy, not a sentra (yeah, yeah, yeah) I don't feel the way they programmed me to feel today Some pieces falling from the waist up I'm so sorry for delays I just need one moment to erase That burning pain before the rage I feel good, I feel good, I feel good (I fixed it) And I hope this is the hardest part We try, we try And when they say they're satisfied They're lying, they're lying Do forgive me, I've seen the treasure's in the bloom But right now, I'm just not strong enough for you And I hope this is the hardest part We try, we try And when they say they're satisfied They're lying, they're lying Do forgive me, I've seen the treasure's in the bloom But right now, I'm just not strong enough for you
