There was an alternate ending and extended ending to the movie, you can see the extended ending in the movie trailer but not in the movie, it’s at night after Caine dies, it shows jada, her son and Stacy sitting on her steps waiting to speak with the cops. Then there’s the ambiguous ending, we see caine after he is shot and it goes black. There are more facts like o dogs character is supposed to be 15 in the movie, I knew he was younger then Caine but he was barely out of middle school. Sharif was supposed to be played by Tupac. The movie poster originally has a gun in caines hand but it was airbrushed out. And too short was supposed to do Chauncey’s scene with the white insurance agent wanting him to steal a car. There are so many facts about this movie, like the reason they didn’t use any gang colors or affiliations was to not start a riot. Caine was originally supposed to be a very dark character but bc of Boyz in the hood being really dark and released just before m2s, the studio and brother producers decided to make his character more relatable, that’s why we don’t see him doing any real acts of violence without remorse. They also had to edit the crack cooking scene bc it was so in depth that it was basically teaching the audience how to cook crack.

Mary j wasn’t discovered by or signed to diddy and she still gives him credit for helping her career esp in the beginning. Another thing, Jodeci’s style and the tattoos, I know jodeci were the first black artists to be seen with tats/piercings, rappers weren’t even doing tats and piercings in the early 90s. Look at pac in the early 90s and look at him toward the mid 90s wearing the leather vest, nose and ear piercing with that huge thug life tattoo lol even my dad started wearing those leather vests, baggy shorts and he even had an ear piercing! And her moving closer to static major and black for her 3rd album makes sense, esp when you hear ppl talk about their dynamic, timbs sound changed too, and no shade to timb either bc he’s really good, those Indian samples went hard. What jodeci started for hip hop rnb is like what Michael Jackson started for pop and music videos. More than a standard was created, the blueprints they laid are now customs - things that are standardized/embedded in our cultures. Things you can’t imagine not having and if it stopped ppl would be confused. Imagine if artists stopped making music videos, imagine if rnb and rap artists stopped working together and didn’t color their hair, or wear face tats and piercings? Art of dialogue would go triple quad platinum on KZbin from ppl discussing why musicians look and sound different and have no music videos lol. Even if we don’t realize it, we cannot imagine music without certain things adjacent to it.
