One thing I always enjoyed about when Dio became a vampire was his walk. Vampires in everything else just magically walk on walls or ceilings. Dio literally dug his feet in to make each step sound intimidating as he got closer and closer.

The manga is like 33 years old currently. Most of JoJo will be filled with 70, 80s and 90s music references as well as fashion magazine references from those eras. The original author, Araki, is big into wild colors and flamboyant themes as well as fashion, which is part of what gives JoJo its unique charm, so that is the kind of stuff you can sort of expect. I'm glad you guys are having fun, this is a series that is both skillfully written and also just fun to watch without taking too seriously, depending on preference.

Part 1 and 2 are the weakest parts in terms of the story since it's adapted from 1980's so the story is made with an older audience in mind and tends to be experimental in finding its own style (part 5 for instance is made in 2000's so Jojo is really old damn) but the more you get into it, the more it gets better tbh especially when you notice the massive changes and improvements in the latter parts. I wasn't sold either in the first parts but it's really worth it. It's like an experience where watching the older parts will feel rewarding but then again not everyone can be on the same page so it's reasonable to feel differently. I just hope you try to give it a chance again because personally part 4 and 7 for me is its peak but maybe it's not really your thing 😅 Anyways, most of the hype that Jojo has in my perspective is from how influential it is (it's like the origin of many anime cliches etc. like having the first yandare etc.) that most animes have been directly inspired from it (like how Jojo introduced the power system where the abilities/power are exclusively unique to its own user which power system like nens got inspired with) and the references included in almost everything (music, fashion, song names. Jojo is a copyright nightmare) not to mention the memes. It's like a meme generator lol. For short, it has a lot of elements to it that appeals to different people so I can understand why the hype can ruin someone's expectations to it but its hype can be from a lot of things imo. I didn't mean to write this to force you to watch but more like expressing how I feel about the hype thing so I hope you don't mind.

@@Adrian-Abu I actually agree with that but most people enjoyed part 3 than part 2 besides part 1 and 2 can be seperated from the rest (hamon) so they get grouped together not to mention part 3 has more elements that made JJBA bizarre and different. (especially the memes which is what Jojo is really well known outside of its community)
