Jojo's series has a great way of giving the audience more than just white and black. Very few characters have no redeeming features save for Dio and Kars. Even with the Mexicans, he spared the brave one who was willing to die for the others. Just as how Wamuu upheld his honour, despite being an evil aztec vampire stripper god, or how one of the vampire knights redeemed himself. Characters are often also punished justly, and you don't feel that their punishments were overdone. A thug just gets beaten up, but the serial killer gets executed. And the poor good guys aren't invincible either. Zeppeli, Avdol, the plankton girl all die, the stakes are real most of the time.

I saw many comments said that he is a SS. In reality he is a high rank german soldier, yes he fight for the nazis army but more for his homeland. The SS instead was an elite group of soldier made for hunting jew and put them in concentrations camp's or kill them.
