Surface is a really good stand. Much like metallica, surface can kill someone without actually touching that someone personally. Due to the fact that surface needs to know the person, Hazamada can just look that person up in online

It's either 1) Surface is an automatic/bound stand, just like Baby Face 2) Araki forgot It's probably both since many non-automatic stands can be seriously damaged with no effect on the user, like Red Hot Chili Pepper or Talking Head.

@@how1tzer12 It's a bound stand, the user doesn't get affected by the damage. The doll is just a regular doll, the stand is the ability to manipulate that doll. Same thing with Love Deluxe, Yukako doesn't get mutilated if the hair is cut. Same with Boingo.

@@haunted_xp My head-canon is that Hazamada already had that doll with him so when he got hit by the arrow he got a power revolving around it (Like how the Superfly user just lived in a regular transmission tower, got hit by the arrow, and got a stand power that revolved around the tower. Or how Rohan was already a mangaka and got a stand that helped him collect information from people to make better stories for his manga. Or even how Tonio was already a chef and got a stand that revolved around his food. Hazamada probably got a stand that copies other people because he got no friends. He's lonely so it makes a ton of sense that he got a stand with the power to cope with that.) If i remember correctly he controls the mimicry himself so it's not really an automatic stand, even though it functions independently. (I could be wrong) And i don't think he can use that ability in others dolls tho so when the doll got destroyed his powers probably just became useless lol.
