Here kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqCtfpSmq658p6M 0:54 - 3:57 the event you see in between these time stamps never actually happen, Diavolo never swings his fist towards Giorno, he never moves towards him, he never even calls king crimson. Nothing is being “reverted” the cause is gone and the event never takes place, this is GERs ability; you can’t even attempt to attack Giorno or GER. Now you may ask, well then why does that whole scene play out in the episode/manga? The answer is that you wouldn’t know or even have an idea what the ability is if it accurately presented it because you know… nothing happens, in reality diavolo says “Don’t talk down to me like you know what’s going on Giorno Giovanni, I won’t even give you a chance to regret your death” next he just stands there doing nothing, and then he gets fucking muda’ed. Now as for king crimson. Think back to the fight with sticky fingers vs KC What are the effects of being punched by sticky fingers, besides the obvious that the punch would move and hurt you, it would create a zipper on the surface the punch landed on, now what happened in the fight when sticky fingers punched KC? The action did indeed take place; there was a cause, but the fist went through the head, it didn’t harm him, and most importantly the zipper was not created. The event still took place, but nothing came from it, IOW the effects were removed. To conclude here’s a simple summary King crimson says “Your actions can’t do anything to me” GER says “You can’t do anything at all” KC removes the effect of an action or event And GER removes the cause of an action or event, (preventing it from happening outright)

I can't imagine that. Dying literally every single conceivable and insane way, only to immediately stop at the very last possible millisecond to start over again. Imagine any possible death you can ever imagine, no matter how ridiculous, fictional, or even possible, diavolo is forced to enter that death loop forever. You would be driven insane and would beg for it to end, but will never reach the end because it prevents you. The thing about the requiem series is that they are not even close to being remotely human or earth like, but in fact cosmic, almost alien in comparison to other stands. And those beings have abilities so bizarre and powerful that they don't make any sense at all. Just shows how powerful these stands can become.
