Jojo, you do a awesome job. Indeed you had a very successful season. Not many mess up at all. I work in your same position as a farm hand for about 20 years. You did good. We did not have sprinklers where I worked. Yet, we had cattle, over 300 head and we farmed corn, wheat, milo, soybean and cotton. Farm ground was around 8k acres. As for winterizing your sprayer. I am north of Dallas Tx and IMO, winterize it and keep in heated shop. There are so many little tiny spots on one that even winterized can freeze and then you have leaks and cracked parts all over it. I would rather step around or maneuver around it. Than next season work three or four days on fixing what could of been avoided altogether. Jojo, on your comment of arguing or fighting with the other. In my full opinion, if a couple does not argue any. Then one person in this couple is always giving in to the other. You two from what we see here are an awesome couple that is very lucky to work together. And not cut eachothers head off. LOL. That alone is a hard job itself.

Jordan you said that you don't know why we accept you. We accept you for you. For changing the stereo type about women. You are new to this yes but you go out everyday and learn what to do. Everyday you learn something new even if you have been doing the same thing all week. You are willing and able to learn something new. Mistakes are made but it is what you do afterwards that shows you learned from it. Farming is not easy and for a beautiful young woman wanting to learn and farm we have a lot of respect for you. Also the dumbest question is the one that YOU are afraid to ask. You show us what it is like to start something new. You have a lot of people behind you supporting you. So how did your garden do this year? For a young lady you show us how hard of a worker you are. You are not afraid to get dirty. You are not saying I can't do that because I might break a nail. I am concerned about you though. When you were pressure washing the tractor I wish you would have worn safety glasses. There are alot of dirt, grease, oil, harvest particles that quickly could end up in your beautiful eyes. You only have one set of eyes so you have to take care of them. Lots of love from James in Washington state

For me, I came across you two, as a suggestion to watch. I do have interests in farming, yet i'm just a city guy. Years ago, PBS made a gigantic documentary called "The Farmer Wife", and I got my first taste of farming back then. Now, if you have or not seen this doc, it's very depressing. Yet, watching and living with this family and "all" they have to do to survive. I had a new outlook of farming and farmers from that series. From watching that series I wanted to get into implement & machinery repair, and try to help the common farmer out with their broken equipment. I looked into it, and decided it would be to difficult to accomplish. Now, years later, I find you two! Its so fun to see your daily life, But more important it's how you two work so well together, and you two have such a laid-back attitude, which I don't see anymore. We are (in the city), all in such a hurry to get nothing important done here. I really enjoy you both, and it's nice to have your videos on while working on the computer. Look forward to watching all the shows I haven't seen yet, and look forward to all the new ones you make too!
@JojoSnow01 Жыл бұрын
Dang may I ask why it was depressing? I might have to look that up because now I’m curious! Is it because of how hard they work? Coming from the city I never really felt ACTUAL accomplishment from my jobs. I loved helping in the hospital and I loved providing hospitality in the service industry too but always working for a boss that could care less about you taught me a lot and made me just not feel the purpose I was looking for. Thank you so much for being here I really enjoying documenting our life and journey on here!

(...from the documentary The Farmer Wife,) It was kinda sad how they would struggle with daily life. Applications for loans to banks to fix broken equipment, buy seed, trying to figure what to plant to make the most profit, dealing with young kids, and working really long days. I just felt the pain they were going through. I wanted to drive to Kansas/Nebraska or wherever they lived to see if I could help in any way. AND, I can not believe you actually to the time to write me!! That is so nice of you , and I Really appreciate to taking the time to do that! You must get tons of mail. Well thank you and I wish the best to you and and Zack this holiday season --sandy, a dude with a chicks name. I don't care, it's different.@@JojoSnow01

If dropping that pin into place WERE it, jobwise, you needn't worry. You do it so WELL. 😁 Also really like the plan, never understood so much equipment left sitting out in fields or 1/2 covered in open ended 'barns'. I am told I am chronic about doing repairs, putting things in assembly order if a long wait for a part, and wiping them down before putting my tools away, I would need decades to build a barn, then equipment that fits, then another barn, more equipment, etc. But clean it, park it rigged for storage, but also 'quick recovery' if needed. Most likely drive myself nuts trying to improve efficiency, waiting on that 90 row header for that new machine that harvests effectively at a cruise speed of 45 mph.🤣 👍🇺🇸😎

I’m an old crop farm girl and loved seeing him put that equipment away with that machine so he could drive the big rigs IN to store. My dad had to literally back everything in so I used to be able to back anything up: have lost my touch. Also helpful that the storage barn has open doors on either end Truly excited for sprinkler winterizing. Dads operation was sooooo much smaller. We were the only house on a spring fed lake, an old iron ore mine pump and tons of hard plastic hoses. (Russet potato grower)

Jojo, Alabama farm boy here. I would like to know how many acres you all farm each year? You may have already done so but I would love to know more about how you and Zack met, and got into the farming business? Here in central Alabama you get into farming the old fashioned way, your born into it. We grow sod. After the price of soybeans fell out in the late 70's and early 80's (when I was no bigger than a house cat) many famers around us closed down. We went a different direction. Who would have ever though you could make a living out of selling yard grass? We grow Tifton 419 Bermuda and Emerald Green Zoysia. Four of our largest fields are 1,500-2,000 acres. Nothing compared to Kansas. Hell, we think we farm, but folks like you all in the Midwest are farming. I hear you and Zack talking a great deal about irrigation pivots and I can sympathize with you all. We have the hydraulic walking irrigation lines and they have to be checked constantly. Super expensive. Every now and then some ding dong farm hand will leave their car or truck in the walk line of one of those pivots only to come back the next day and find their vehicle nearly split into two halves because those pivots stop for no one or no thing. They need constant supervision which includes waking up at 2 or 3 am to make inspections. Oh, and taking care of equipment is a full time job in and of itself so I like to see you and Zack understand the importance of protecting the tools you use to make your lively hood. I have been driving those green machines since I was old enough to reach the brake peddles. Nothing more beautiful than watching the sun rise as you are breaking a field and listening to some solid country gold on the radio. Love what y'all are doing. Keep on keepin on ! God Bless Y'all.

Great job guys. Always something to do on the farm. Just have to stay at it and try to get things done even when you're worn out and tired and just want to quit. Wish the best for both of you and God bless you both.

Although you are hurting inside (I know what that is like) you have a charming cheerful demeanor, someone I'd be more than happy to have a round to spend time with... x

I think after this season, you’ve graduated from city girl to certified “ hard working full blood farm girl” ! Every day is a hard work day on a farm! You guys are a great team!

Maybe have like a farm camp resort aka Big Doings Ranch.Were people can experience the farming life. This way you not only have people help with chores .And you dont have to pay them to do so. This will be a learning experience and guidance on how to grow and maintain your garden. Just a thought. Take care and thanks for sharing.

Here in Saskatchewan by the time harvesting is done it is basically winter. If there is time we might spray for foxtail, thistle and stinkweed. Mother nature looks after the volunteer canola and spring wheat.

Love your stories as you take us on your "journey". It's sad to know that less than 2% of American families are farmers. It has become a big business to own and operate a profitable farm (if that in itself is possible). Best of luck to you!
