Just watched the trailer again... And man, it's good! We're looking sooo much forward to this movie. But I have to give credit where credit is due - it is impossible to compare the many portrayals of the Joker. Joaquin Phoenix looks absolutely perfect for this role, and if the movie is anything like the trailers show, it can easily be the best movie of the year. Definitely worth of the Oscar buzz! Some of you have commented that I look upset, uncomfortable or plain annoyed. And let me assure you: it has nothing to do with the thing we are watching or talking about. With the stress around my master's thesis that gets denser, so does both my physical and mental health. I can't channel everything out, so please bear this in mind, that something else might go on underneath that Batman t-shirt. All the best, Kat

This is what I want out of DC. I couldn't give two shits about a cinematic universe; all I want is a good movie-going experience. And this movie looks like it'll deliver on that front. This and It: Chapter 2 have been my most anticipated films of 2019, and as someone who doesn't care for clowns, I'm not sure what that says. Good reaction, guys. And get on The Leftovers! Linda Taylor While I agree we might seem a little too skeptical about this incarnation of the Joker, and a bit too loyal to our previous favorite live action Joker, Heath Ledger - we are still VERY excited to see it tomorrow! Very few people had actually seen the movie when this trailer was released, so we got a little annoyed at all the people proclaiming this movie and portrayal the best thing ever. It might very well be the best ever, but we reserve that judgement till we’ve seen it - or at least until more people has seen the movie. I am in love with this movie. Batman is my idol. He for me is the greatest man. And The Joker is the man that keeps him going. Joaquin Phoenix is an absolutely amazing actor. The way he laughed and just stopped. And you can differentiate his smiles. Him smiling when he sees the clown in the cab was soo innocent, and his smile when he is in the paint. This trailer has floored me. This Movie is Going To Be Perfect.

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this but this has major King of Comedy vibes. Which was a really good dark comedy by Martin Scorsese from the early 80's. You might want to give it a watch prior to watching this.

That’s a horrible thing to say.. We love him because he was a very talented actor and an overall good person, who touched and even changed the lives of many of the people he met. And to us he is still the best live action Joker. Joaquin is definitely no joke! His performance was absolutely mesmerizing in the movie. But we are allowed to like both, even though we prefer one over the other.

I am guessing you’ve already seen the movie then, since you know so much about what it’s like. We are looking so much forward to this movie, and I am sure Joaquin Pheonix’ performance will blow us away! But him being phenomenal in the role doesn’t take away from any of the other Jokers we’ve seen through the years. It’s just different versions, played by different actors/voice actors. I don’t get this “you have to choose” mentality, where if you really like one thing, then you have to dislike the other. Why can’t we enjoy both? I enjoy all the different versions of the character, from Nicholson to Ledger and voice only like Mark Hamill, but I enjoy them all for very different reasons. Kat & Sonny is not that I dislike the movies made until now with the joker. But trust me, this film makes any other movie you might had thought was brilliant look like a fairytale. As I mentioned before...you guys will be in shock. I was a huge fan of Batman the dark night, but...this movie with only the joker as the star of the film you come to understand why Batman never wants to kill the joker.and it explains it perfectly. And when I mentioned is not for the faint of heart, believe me. The movie is beautifully made and written and cruel at the same time. Just be prepare that once you guys watch the movie tomorrow or Friday you’ll be like what the hell I just watched!!? even masterpiece doesn’t make justice to name this film, is beyond amazing. Send me your review after watching it, I’d like to know what you think about it? This is the most realistic joker you’ll get. Real!!! in the sense that anyone out there can be a patient with mental illness who goes insane taking on everyone. By being bullied, even the director mentioned that this is based on real mentally challenged people who becomes obsessed with something like BPD disorder. If you are looking to watch a comic movie this is not that type of movie. This is actually deeper than that. And you’ll see what I mean, some people couldn’t finished watching the entire movie because is raw to the core. And you’ll see what I mean. Watch the movie and then everything I’m telling you will make sense. And Joaquin had to watch hours of tapes on people with mental disorders. Even Joaquin mentioned on an interview that due to the amount of weight lose , and intensity of this movie he came to understand why someone goes completely insane.

I"m annoyed like hell at these two reviewers. I love Heath Ledgers Joker to..BUT this was supposed to be a review of the Final Trailer for Joker. So sorry you get annoyed at us discussing this stuff.. we couldn’t help but compare to The Dark Knight, because we really didn’t know much about this film before watching the trailer. And TDK just seems the most tonally similar, while also being a DC movie with the Joker. Afterwards we researched a lot of course, and we are a lot less skeptical now. We are seeing the movie tomorrow - can’t freaking wait! We are certainly giving Phoenix a fair chance (we have huge expectations), but we don’t want to take anything away from Ledgers portrayal or any of the other actors who’ve played the Joker before. Arthur Fleck isn't the real Joker. In the Wayne's murders scene you can clearly see even with the mask that the guy shooting them is not Arthur. He is shorter than Arthur and also have shorter hair. Plus the voice isn't the same too. Also the real Joker and Bruce Wayne are about the same age but in the scene when Arthur goes to the Wayne's mansion and put a smile on Bruce's face , Bruce is a child and Arthur is an adult. Arthur Fleck was an inspiration for the real Joker.

Yes, I believe Todd Phillips did mention that could be a probability, if someone decides to connect it to the upcoming Batman movie. But I don’t think that was their thinking while making the movie. I think it was meant more as a stand-alone alternate version of the Jokers origin, and consequently also Batman’s origin. There are plenty of examples of those alternate stories in the comic books as well 🙂
